What dialect of Arabic do you speak/write?

Other than an undergraduate studies course, is there a superb website or reference book that can teach one the fundamentals of Arabic?

What is the most spoken dialect of Arabic?

On a scale of 1-5 (1 most facile/ 5 most difficult) for a non-native speaker, how difficult is it to become fluent (reading and writing) in Arabic when compared to other foreign languages?

Im not sure how difficult it will be but hows this for a referance my english mum livd in the arab world for more than 18 years and has never become fluent.

The writen dilect is rarley spoken I'd say the egyptien dilect becasue egypt has the highest [population and neaqrly all the old good arbic flms are egyptien.

I suppose but there are things you cant learn like he pronuciation of certain letters apparantly if you dont learn them early you can never learn to say them exactly right
:D

I think actually if your good with languges it would be a 2.5/3 because the rule is the rule is the rule wants you get the rules it ort of oomes along quite nicely. :D
