Hi ggiirrll,
Something that springs to mind instantly is the common control of language in the two books. In Bradbury's work the firemen destroy the written word, whereas in 1984, the state limits and increasingly restricts the language available to the population. You should have a quick look at Orwell's own essay on the importance of language."Politics and the English Language" (1946). (available fill text online) In it he talks about the importance of the language we use for the formation of politics. This could link nicely with present day concerns political correctness as a political strategy, and thus you might link Orwell's concerns to feminist theorists insistence that the words we use to describe things are creative of politics. Carol Adams for eg has discussed this in her book _The Sexual Politics of Meat_ and elsewhere. Not unrelated to these concerns is the fact that in both novels it is novels as well as histories that are banned, and cherished by the resistence. You might investigate how both histories and works of the imagination allow us to know that things have been different in the past, and to imagine that they might be different in the future. Thius is truely radical promise of the written word in both novels - they undermine the State's attempts to present their own idelogy as the only possible one. - anyhow, hope that helps...

They both exploit the forms or rulers in government. In 1984 Ingsoc is criticized which is actually English Socialism.

Both had at least some political bias: 1984 was anti-Fascist and fahrenheit 9/11 was anti-Republican.

1984 had a better writer though ^_^

Both novels have "Control" in common. Both authors ask the reader to examine how much control we're willing to give our government. Both novels ask the reader to question how much we can trust our government. And both novels challenge the reader to wonder.

Wait, are we talking about Farenheit 9/11 or Farenheit 451?

think along the lines of Bush=Big Brother, extreme nationalism and patriotism=party ideals(ex. sacrifice anything for the party=sacrifice anything for "freedom" the evils of extremism) saddam, alquaida, binladen=the unknowingly ever-changing enemies, bin laden=the face of evil=emmanuel goldstein yet never is he found, always foiling the plans of Bush's democracy. try to establish common relationships between the two and your essay writing will be much easier. there are more things i can think of but i wouldnt want to get the credit for writing your work would i? ;)
