I happen to be a trivia buff, and one of my childhood crushes had a bit of a SailorMoon fetish.

Hmmm, let's see, He lived during the third crusade, and during the reign of prince John, which lasted untill 1194, when Richard I Coeur de Lion returned, and crushed the coup by this treacherous prince John, with some considerable help by Robin himself, who proved to be a real menace for prince John.

Let's say he was 30 years old when Richard the lion hearted returned from the crusades, imprisonment etc. That would make him about 841 years old. I think I am pretty close there, maybe give or take a few years. Suffice to say Sir Robin is quite the long lived gentleman.

Actually, I've never seen SailorMoon, beyond perhaps a handful of brief clips. The most I remember is that every time they turned into the Sailor Scouts, their clothing mysteriously became technicolor.

Nightshade
12-16-2005, 06:22 PM

isnt that from way back when!
Star he cant be ten! please dont tell me hes ten that would be  espesially with the turn of mind he showed in places on Stans Dasterdly Ship.

20's is too young. I used to do some acting in local medieval festivals. You'd be surprised how excited people like Robin get about that when thier even into their fifties.
No insults intended, Robin, ... I'd say around 35 years.

He can't be 30 or 35. Sailor Moon began to air on 1995, and if one of his childhood crushes liked sailor moon, well... then... she can't be a toddler. So at 1995 and up she had to be somewhere around 6 or higher. Even though, crushes tend to start(childhood ones anyways) around 9. So assuming she began watching that when she was around nine years old(and assuming Robin was in the same grade as her, since childhood crushes tend to be at school and the 2 people tend to be in the same grade) then at 1995 Robin had to have 9. 2005-1995=10. 9+10= 19. Of course the childhood crush would probably somewhere from 7-10 so basically he's age is probably be 17-20 or perhaps 17-22(even though, I don't think sailor moon was popular among preteens, not sure). Anyhow, I'd say 19.

Edit: Hey, I just realized something, I find it sort of interesting(could be just me though). Each of us has tried to figure out his age through different ways. Like I tried to use logic and research, while some of you tried to guess his age due to his personality and stuff. I find this interesting because it shows how differently each of our minds work.

Hehe, well... it really wasn't in my life. I'm saying preteen as 11 and 12 though. Anyhow, I would also assume that she would have watched sailor moon first (perhaps at least for a year) before he had a crush on her. Assuming this, he probably got a crush on her between 1996 and 1998(I highly doubt it was 2001 though[which was when it ended] as that would make him what? 13? I'm sure he's a little older). Assuming she was 9 when he got the crush on her, the ranges would actually be 16-18. So my final answer's basically 17-19.

even teens are terrified of other teens. you know for the longest time I thought bongity was in his mid or late twenties. shows you how easily you can be fooled. And as for general knowledge it is hard to know. My first born son already knew things adults knew by grade two and then right into philology in about grade five. so I guess I am confused.

hehe... perhaps ^^'

You know, I don't really like it(and no offense to you guys btw) when people think things about other people just because of their age. When I was younger I hated when kids were treated differently from adults(or when I was for that fact), so today I hate treating kids differently as well(of course it's near impossible to treat them the same, because I agree that the older the mind is the wiser it gets, but you still have to understand that everyone's different and thinks differently and has led a different life). Which is why, although he may seem like 30-35 to some of you, still think it's possible for him to be a teen. Which is also why I'm sticking to 18, and if he's actually ten, I can still believe it so.

Yes seventeen does seem to be a number worth thinking about. The thing is he is old enough to have had relationships and still be in contact with them as friends later on. He has been in more than one so let us say the average teenage one lasts six months to a year, oh I don't know. Any other hints M'Lord? And what was that you just said wordsmithing, that is a singular expression. Either you are a child genius or a young thinking twenty or thirty year old something.

Virgil-no that did not include that. He asked once about that and I explained and he looked at his baby brother and then me and asked in a shocked and greatly disappointed voice " you did that TWICE ?" I felt like crawling under a log and staying there. we are rather a cerebral Sherlock Holmes type of a family so looking back I can see his point of view. You never mention if you have little ones.....do you?

M'Lord do you have any little ones by the way?

Kaltrina
12-19-2005, 09:28 AM
well to be more precise I could guess your sign when reading to your jokes, which are the type of jokes that only libras use. you joke in a way that it makes people think you are serious and scared of your jokes, not that i want to say that you are sarcastic or anything but the way you make jokes people are attracted to you and they somehow like to make a good impression about themselves...now I'll tell you something about libras but only in general because i don't know you so good to know how your personality is... libras have a very strong character and they seem very dangerous and self confidential which makes other people be scared of your opinions and judgements...but deep down inside you are very sensitive and have a hidden world inside there which no one must know, otherwise you'll feel weak... anyways you are very good friends, people can really rely on you and you try to help people as much as you can. you're funny, have a really good sense of humour even though kind of weird... you're hardworking.... no matter how old you are you have a young spirit which helps you fit with everyone, young or old... you don't feel comfortable when people get to know you better than anyone else and if you don't like a person to know you, then immediately you change your attitude and convince the person he/she is wrong in thinking he/she knows you.... well there are many things that I can't remember right now.... tell me if anything matches your personality and please if I said anything wrong or that you don't like ...than sorry... :)

RobinHood3000
12-19-2005, 09:50 AM
Hmm...most of the things up until "you don't feel comfortable when people get to know you better" were true at least in part. But then, that's a common trend in astrology :p . Plus, I don't really mind letting people into my inner world--a lot of me goes on my sleeve, or at least, that's how I perceive myself as behaving. And by all means, call me sarcastic. After all, I am.

Kaltrina
12-19-2005, 09:54 AM
well ok then, yes you tend to be sarcastic at times, but that only happens because you are always very sincere with your opinions... and another things, these things I don't get from astrology, this is me... I always analyse people...I ask people of their signs and when I stay a lot with that person and many other persons with the same sign I make comparison and I found what do they have in common, that is how I created my own analyses and I only rely on those, not any astrological thing... :D

I got an idea... since we're asking Robin questions, let's make a game out of that. This should make things more challenging. Alright, each of us can only ask 1 question, and Robin should answer them, if we team up though, we should have his age in no time. Where's the fun and challenge in that? so... to prevent that, each of our questions can not be related to past questions that have already asked (so we can not ask about his astrology sign twice, brothers and sisters twice, etc.). Also if we ask for his birth year or current age, that'd be the easiest way to solve it. So no asking that type of stuff either

Hmm... a question... it can not be one that gives the answer right away though... just a question that narrows it all down(so the mystery isn't ruined). It can not be about British PMs either. Hey... I just got another idea, this shall make things a lot better(so the mystery isn't ruined for everyone). Even though we're trying to figure out his age, we don't want to figure it out immediately because, well, where's the fun in that. So if you do manage to figure it out, don't say his age. This way the mystery remains until he tells us.

I've just been reading all of the various guesses and questions, and despite your reply to the earlier suggestions, I think you sound exactly like a teenage male in many ways.It takes a teenage girl to know that RobinHood is a teenage boy.I'm so sure.I definately think you are still in your teens.I'm guessing your a teenage superhero then.;)At first I thought you sounded a bit younger than myself.I assumed you were about sixteen or seventeen; or are you the same age as this Oceanic-born faery?I think one can sometimes sound younger or older in their mind and heart, but it takes different individuals and situations to bring out that side of yourself.Sometimes one may be child-like and playful, and at other times appear extremely mature when regarding a serious issue. When expressing one's thoughts on a profound topic, a few may appear mature beyond their years.Everyone has their own unique character, and interests, but those that read alot are bound to acquire more knowledge than their fellow peers that never pick up a book.Their are probably some fifteen-year olds that are more mature than some highly ignorant fifty-year olds.Age is not necessarily always an indication of maturity, depth of thought, or wisdom.I think it's a positive step if one can look past the "teenage stereotypes" all the time, as there can be exceptions in different cases. It may be easier to stereotype a selection of individuals, but I personally remain very open-minded and realise the great diversity that is out there in the whole of humanity.I'm no stereotype. But I do think one can remain forever young at heart, and be free-spirited, while still accumulating more knowedge, and, hopefully, wisdom across the vast days and nights.Considering that the majority of members (including myself) are in the 15-19 age group, I predict that Robin is about 17 or just turned 18.Though I wouldn't be terribly surprised if you are 20-25, but I think 30+ pushes it.And if you do turn out to be much older ( as in old enough to be one's great-grandfather) than myself, Night, Samercury, etc, then I do admit that I think that is a little creepy ( no offence) that you enjoy chatting to young girls-a la Lolita-complex- but I can handle twenties or thirties. Now all that remains is for the mystery to be solved...am I correct or not?

I hope not! If this was a pop music forum, perhaps, but I tend to think of literature as an all-ages topic. What about all the other fine older folks? ;) Scher and Logos (although I thought he was much younger before I read the poll results!), and Baddad and VBM, and Starr, Darlin, et cetera and so on. Although I had thought most of the people here were between 20 and 30. I was very surprised when I saw the poll.

I think I should have edited my comment, as looking back I can see how it can be taken out of context. If that line appeared discriminatory, it was my mistake.I'm not an endorser of an ageist culture. I seriously think there is nothing wrong with older people coming to this forum, that was not what I was attempting to convey.I wasn't actually thinking of you myself, Virgil, but I agree that someone can contribute to a forum, no matter what age they are and have only purely friendly intentions.I was actually thinking more of private messages, and considering the actual age of the person who I may be conversing with. And hypothetically:I would like to know at least roughly what age group someone, who I was talking to, belonged to, as there could possibly be people online, who have less than innocent motives and may be good at manipulating their minors, but I do not seriously consider that much of a risk currently. Most I have come across on the forum seem great and very sincere. And I think it's vastly different chatting to a 67 year-old grown man, than a 17 year-old boy.But I still think one can chat to people of all ages. There is nothing wrong with someone befriended an older person.I have no problem with that and never would like to promote the idea that anyone who is friendly with a young teenager, must automatically have pedaphilic tendencies.Sadly, some people like that do exist in societies and prey on the more vunerable and inexperienced, but I am not wishing to strongly endorse a stereotype here, so I'm sorry if you found that comment insulting.I truly think you sound like a great, honest, decent guy, and devoted husband.I really love reading your posts. And I hope no one was offended.
I welcome everyone to the forum, from all backgrounds, sex, race, different beliefs, age, etc.Continue to enjoy posting, please.

Robin - If you're by a computer at the stroke of midnight you might want to reveal it then for the ultimate drama. Oh wait, we'er all on different time zones. Well, if I were you I would figure out how to reveal it with the most drama.

RobinHood3000

Great idea! just don't add this "(by the way, I am blah years old)", what better hunt than one that makes us search real hard. In other words add it, but don't say your age directly. Of course, it's your thread (and by that I mean about you, not that you made it) so it's really your decision on how to conceal your age in one of your posts.

... because I was calculating 76-79 and my bets for 1978 the year of the horse hmmmmm "... my kingdom for a horse... Night"

Hmm... I don't know... and I can't remember the order either. I only know that the rabbit comes before the dragon, the dragon before the snake, the snake before the horse, the horse before the sheep or goat, and the sheep/goat before the monkey. I forget what goes after a monkey and before the rabbit. Because of this I'm going to choose randomly as to what he is. I highly doubt he's a rooster or a dog or a pig/boar. So my bets go towards him being an ox, a tiger, a rat, or a rabbit. I know that if he were a rabbit he would have to be 3 years older than me (since I am a horse and rabbit goes 3 animals before the horse, or 3 years before I was born). So if he were a rabbit he would be 18. I highly doubt he was born in 76-79 though... too old(well... from my calculations). Still thinking about my question! :\

Robin, you stopped and mentioned you had made 783 posts earlier. Is this some subtle clue?...7+ 8+ 3 = 18.Though I still guess your younger than Night and myself at this rate, at least by a few months. And if I remember correctly Night had her 18th birthday later in the year. Also considering that females are usually a few years more mature than males, we girls should not consider anyone under 21.Obviously rules you out, archer. For the last few years, I have always found boys around my own age to be so much more inmature than the girls. Those younger knights better not flatter themselves.;)

The forumers who were closest were Aurora Ariel, DigitalCrash (though not with the latest guess :p), rachel, and Pensive. All of them got my age spot-on, or managed to give a range that included it. You're either 17 or 18. I can't find anywhere that rachel specified an age, but DigitalCrash first guessed 19, then changed it to 18. Pensive stuck to her range of 15-17, and Aurora guessed that either you were 17 or had just turned 18.

My original guess was also 15-17, but I edited my post and switched to 15 or 16. So, I guess it's better to stick with first impressions, after all.

So, which is it?

rachel
12-31-2005, 12:00 PM
Well M'Lord many kings of wisdom and courage started at your age. It changes nothing about my deep esteem of you. Funny the truth is that when I read one line of your first or second pm to me seventeen is exactly what I thought. But then the way you argued with Starr with such wisdom and dignity, I thought you must be older.
I am deeply proud of you and honored to be one of your merry if tired men(saying merry women sounds rather absurd doesn't it.

Virgil baby Hasia hates and I mean hates being put in a stroller even if she does have the very best and latest that Jeep makes. At any rate twice now at Safeway while shopping for last minute Christmas things she stood up and buggy and she went smack into the floor. I am pretty sure her little back is out and will get it dealt with when we can see someone(around here a waiting list of a year is not uncommon) And because of it she began having problems going to the bathroom which frightened her and then the go round of juices, water, prunes and suppositories(she thinks I am a traitor and evil when I have to do that) then the fear of going and .... we are both worn out.
But it will pass. thank you for asking.
And M'Lord thank you for being so honest and before I sunk into a coma.
Have a great day everyone. I must fly and get things done and work on those illustrations, trying to cut down the number of colors, it is tedious but rewarding. And I will be walking the floor with Hasia but hopefully she will finally get over this quickly so we can go for a walk and watch the duckies.

Well, pretty near the lower limit, if it makes you feel any better. Besides, I like being thought of as more mature than other kids my age.

Take comfort--there were guesses further from the truth.

ok I guess I was way off.... 27-30  , but I think I was right in some way, because you are very mature, which confused me... I'm glad to know your age now, as everyone else I guess... :D

Of course! Don't worry--I try to project a very specific persona on here.

rachel, calling me "M'Lord" now that you know my real age doesn't bother you, does it? I'm starting to wonder if I should be calling you "Milady" instead. :p

M'Lord,
what in the world does age have to do with title?
Of course it doesn't bother me, it is still the same honor it was before.
And I think Sir Robin that at the time of his life it was the custom to do both.
But I am fine with Rachel.
Irish Canadian I just saw your picture today and you are very handsome or pretty or beautiful, I don't know what to say. Cool doesn't mean a thing to me.
But are you Irish, because although I know that many of the Celtic races merged and mingled in the past you look just like our friend Harley the Bruce who descends directly from Robert the Bruce, Scottish King. It is strange because you look tall and thin.
So much mingling of their wee bloodlines I think.

(blush) gee thanks so much rachel.
That is an interesting story ... my great grandfather was a Scot ... he served in Arabia in the BlackWatch regiment. But thats all we know about him .. then he changed his last name and moved to Ireland. So My Irish heritage (on my dad's side) only goes back about two generations ... my mom is purley Canadian (if it exists "pure"). But we think that my greatgranddad had a second family in North Africa ... theres a picture of him with a woman and some kids ... and a secret that all my great Aunts want to take with them to the grave. Mysterious.
Thanks for asking. By the way ... i noticed that theres no picure of you there

Incidentally, you'll notice that she lacks an avatar, as well.

I can explain,
first of all I couldn't think of an avy that would suit. I knew the moment would come when someone would say something.
second, I am still struggling with this blasted camera, but within two weeks I will post my picture. alrighty?
Irish,
that is a very interesting story. talk about skeletons inthe closet everyone has them and they are so interesting. total fodder for great stories.
thank you for sharing.
oh by the way M'Lord I found out your autograph is worth millions in England now but I am not selling. mine shall go to the grave with me.next to my heart.

 Shocking, I had no idea Robin was just a few months older than I. You certainly portray the persona of a much older person (Does that sound weird, persona and person in the same sentence?).
