My goodness. What did I do to deserve such warmth and affection. Thank you all very much. My only accomplishment is that I was able to stay alive for 365 days, just like all of you.

It has been a nice day. People at the office wished me a happy birthday too. And by chance today was our office Christmas party, and my boss made a special annoucement concerning my birthday. And they had me come up and receive a little gift of a bottle of wine. I was embarressed. People said my face had turned as red as the bottle of wine. I'm not a shy person, and with age I've gotten pretty good at making a presentation and speech, but today with the applause and stuff I felt humbled. We all live 365 days every year. The year you don't you're in trouble.

Thank you for the pictures of cakes and presents. It's the best we can do over the internet. At work I occaisionally sneak a peak to the forum and when I did this morning this brought a big smile (yes, Nightshade, a smile) to my face.

It's been a very good day, altogether, all except my father wasn't feeling well when I visited him this evening at the nursing home.

Let me respond to a couple of things above:

Christmas party filled me up, so I'm not actually eating dinner tonight. I watched my wife eat alone.

Let's see, my favorite drinks: red wine, scotch, rum, almarretto, fra angelico, grappa, lemoncello, Irish whiskey, Baileys Irish Cream, beer, etc. Too many. But I do only limit myself to two drinks in any one given day. I had two glasses of wine today at the party. But I am going to splurge and have a third drink in a little while. I'm going to have a little shot of my 18 year old single malt scotch.
