View Full Version : a prayer for someone in need....an intercession thread

i don't know if a thread like this exists here....and i don't know if this is a good idea, but i started this because i think intercession and prayer are really powerful, and lots of problems can be solved through prayer
and it's really thoughtful to keep a person in ur prayers especially if he needs them....

and i don't know if many will post in here....but i might be a regular poster here ;)

Please help with intercessions and prayers, all that's asked for is a little time and thought, doesn't cost much does it?

i would appreciate prayer for Desiree. she has been treated very badly by a superior and even though she is considered the best worker and has seniority the superior refuses to give her later hours so she can save a great deal of money on taxis, she doesn't drive and that way afford a phone and other necessities.
God bless and keep you

prayers for Andre and his wife...

a prayer request for a woman who's husband commited suicide...here's how the event took place

the woman whom im talking about lives in my neighbourhood, these people got married about 3 yrs back, have a 2 year little girl.
The lady has PH.D in some subject and wanted to work, the man refused, he did not want her to work... that started an argument between them which became serious in the following two days...

the woman called up a relative and asked him to come over, but he said he could not come for another two days.

On the 1st of january the man hung himself by the ceiling fan and died... everyone's blaming the woman now...and tht 2yr old child suffers...

Please pray
God bless you all

will pray with all my heart. the woman absolutely needs to go to a good counsellor right now and be assured that nothing she did made this man committ suicide.
an act like that unless from great physical pain or some such is often an act of selfishness because it is so final and the person partaking in the act knows full well the suffering he or she leaves behind. This man had a child to consider but he considered having the final say more than looking to raise and love his child. And it was in my mind a very controlling thing to do. The poor woman, she needs love and support now and communty in as much as it will probably take a long time to be back to normal and be able to continue her duties. When someone in my immediate family tried to take their life several years ago and I called for help, once they got to hospital the doctore came in and the first words he uttered where" who and what are you so angry against. He then said that the root of the anger must be dealt with and that the person had to help take those steps to recovery, others could not do it for him.
are you alright dear? how sad and terrible for you as well being the neighbor. one man's fate really does affect many others.

My sincere apologies for not visiting this thread before this, but I had my own plate full at the moment. I will add everyone mentioned to my prayers in the still of the night, when I find myself awakened by that little voice telling me to pray for the hour is come. Thank all of you who upheld me through my latest bout with my illness. If I disappear from time to time, I'm not angry with anyone, I'm just battling the Enemy. God Bless.

Eva - I don't pray formally very often (ususally just for my elderly parent's health) but your post here was very touching. When I go to bed in a few minutes I will pray for you to do well.

I will be lifting you up little Eva and Pen, you know we have not ceased praying for you. I admit I have been worried but I know that 'greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world"
I love your poem Pen, and it makes me have tears in my eyes to see it in the material and know the care and cost to you. You are loved big time in our house. trav and clayton send their love and prayers and they could use some too-both being persecuted , especially gentle Clayton at the moment for their faith.
still praying for your papa, but now I see your mommie is alive also so I will include her dear Virgil.

You must know, my dear friend Rachel, that all my poetry/songs are but a labor of love, an extention of my feelings. I am only glad that God has blessed others by them. I will pray for Travis and Clayton, as I do for Desi each night. Today Jonathan turns 17, a major struggling point for teenagers, but he himself has asked for prayer! So I post it here, where others can pray as well. Also, Daughter of the Lion, I hold you up in prayer, for you require strength more than a little. United we shall stand in prayer. God Bless.

well, Pen, my beloved friend,
I just sat down to do a bit of writing on this forum before sending one of the fam off to work and now I have tears in my eyes and it is not six in the morning yet.
yes your son is in that constant war that we are born into and die in and it grieves me. But God did not even spare Himself so we must ask for nothing less. But I am grieved indeed that you have been so tested and have suffered so much of late. I am going to plead with our God for a rest for you even as He granted such to Elijah if but for a little in order that he might be strengthened.
As for me, I am grateful for your prayers as it is a privelege to feel the angels accompanying me and comforting me in this walk against the horrid winds of trial.
I am always reminded of a scripture in psalms, a part which goes "he reeled unsteadily like a drunken man, and even his wisdom proved confused and he called out to God and AS USUAL He answered and brought him to the haven of his delight."
May God bring you all there and may you find shelter from the storms if only for a little under the safety of His wings.

Pray fro those who know not what taking ones life means so that they do not face the ordeal, pray for the sad people who don't know what relief is, and pray fro your freinds, enemys and loved ones!

I would like to pray for the mother and the little girl.
May they both know comfort and love in this terrible ordeal of which they will have to go through, and which they will feel for the rest of their lives.
Death is a terrible thing, and what makes suicide so demoralizing is that it goes against every natural human tendancy, every spiritual feeling a person has, our life is not our own to take.

I would like to ask for prayer to those that truly misunderstand us and our religion, and that they may one day be able to break through the bondages that hold them.

And ask blessing upon those who were kind enough to take time out of their days, and share in this prayer forum.

God Bless, Shizz.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you, they may be our enemies, but it will be the same tommorow night. Till then this is Orphan Anne your number one enemy, reminding you GI's always to be good. Bye Bye, now."

Goodness, I did not notice this thread! How spiritually blind of me! :(
I would like to pray for the children I see on the streets as well as the old folks whom I see are abandoned. May God wrap them in His gentle arms and envelop them with his warmness  I would also like to pray for souls who just passed away, may they find their way to the Lord's kingdom :) My prayer extends also for all LitNet members! Most especially my mummy Rachel and my dearest sweet angel, Eva! And of course how can I forget...silent solemn prayers for my most cherished little princess....

Smilingtearz, your name is Eva? Well I never noticed this thread before, and wow. God bless you for starting it, I think it is something definitely needed. Praying for you.

poesguiltyheart / Josh, that is great news on finding God. I will pray for you to find the right church. I will also pray for strength and patience as it took me a year and a half to find one of my own.

And I will pray for all you guys on LitNet to help you get through whatever ordeals your busy lives get you to.

*****
Life is hectic for me right now. I need prayer in a gigantic way. If I explain here and now, everyone will think my life relates somewhat to Anna Karenina. For now, I guess I just need prayer for the strength to trust God completely. I am listening to Him and making the decisions He wants, but that seed of doubt keeps coming back and I sit wondering why God is breaking my heart.

Thanks guys and I love you all...keeping you in prayer.
Be back soon,
Lauren

Now I believe, we better remove that seed shall we? Why not turn it into trust, Lauren? The Lord wants us to have faith...for even as little as a grain of sand... but most importantly we must have faith. All your burdens, problems, etc. it couldnt be in better hands than His, trust Him and be patient, all will be well you'll see :)

Come back and gimme a knock on the head if things don't turn out right as I've said

Eva told me once to say que sera sera, leave things in God's hands. I Pray your burdens be lifted for you to be able to smile joyously :)

Very many thanks, woeful painter. I will hold you to that knock in the head if things don't turn out alright in the end! ;) There is truth in everything you said, and in Eva's phrase. It is just the application that makes it hard.

I will keep in mind what you said as things go crazy. And I will keep everyone in my prayers.

And there's power in prayer...

dear josh i'll keep you in my prayers everyday from now... i'm sure you'll grow in your renewed relation with the almighty...

and doesn't the bible say, "if you're in me and my words are in you... ask in faith and you shall recieve"... (correct me if i'm wrong)
so Lauren, believe and have faith.. be strong in your faith.
and be thankful for all that you have recieved for when we count our blessings... we realize there's much more we've got than what we have realized so far..

our God's a mighty god isn't he?

Prayers for all of you

Gozeta, you and your troops have the prayers of me and my friends. Where exactly are you stationed at? All you troops have more prayers in our hearts than you know. My brother was stationed in Turkey after 9/11, right now he is in South Korea and away from his babies.

Josh, keep strong in your newfound faith, and I will keep praying.

God is speaking to me, and I am finding reasssurance in my actions under His will. When I doubt, I ask him to quiet my heart and help me see that all He does is out of love. So doubt is getting smashed out of the picture. Yay!! Fighting the good fight. Keeping you all in prayer.

I am praying to keep this thread going. It really is a good thing to have another prayer group so active.

Ooo... yes, you are right Eva. Someone said that we are immortal when we are doing God's will, until He calls us home... I think I got it all muddled, but basically, when we are doing His will, we cannot die until God calls us home...
I'll look for that quote.

I know a girl who needs prayer. Her name is T. She is 13 and has a younger brother. She has been adopted into a foster family, has been baptized, and has faith in Christ. She has a good family now. She goes to my church. Her real parents are drug addicts or something. They do not know Christ. T just needs a lot of prayer, and for her parents too, that they may see the truth and follow Christ. It would make T so happy.

I do pray with you for these innocent souls , I saw that girl in the TV, she really broke my heart. How she will resume her life after she has been snatched from the shelter and the love of her family. Can you imagine how her life will be?

May those taken souls rest in peace. I'm just too sad to express how i feel .
