I recently read the first 10 books in the series, and they were...different. What did you think of them? Tell me what you thought about any/all of the books! And please, tell me your opinion, not a summary of the book.

humm I read the first one rather recently not sure what I thiink really its sort of whats it called gothic? or is itr melodramatic and echoes many of the great "orphan" books in a mocking way.

I know that whenever a new one comes out the school library shelves are mobbed by people wanting to get it. so I suppose hes derfinetly doing somthing right, I do rember I loved his style of writing though :D

i recently bought the first 6 books. I figured it wouldnt hurt to start collecting books for my daughter for when she is older. I have read them and i really enjoyed them. While they are a easy read they are entertaining and at points heartwarming to see the love the children share and sad when they yet again lose another guardian.

I liked them and my daughter especially liked them, she said it made her feel she was not the only one that has had so many unfortunate events happen to her in the last three years of her young life.
I looked up the author and was surprised at his background and the fact he played accordian with a wierd rock band. He is both a very plain ordinary sort of guy and very young, that surprised me, and he is also very complex. He is in a word "wierd". He doesn't seem to like adults much at all and his understanding of how many treat children(sorry I don't speak Monkey) comes shining thru as well as the fact many adults never really listen to what children are saying. I hate that. I work with children and have for quite a while. You need to listen.theri souls are sometimes screaming for us to just listen.
