Hi all. Im new! I hope this isnt frosh week...
Actually, Im kinda on a pre christmas mission to solve a NAGGING QUERIE! I am in search of a person(s) who prides themselves on thier near thorough knowlege of DICKENS, Charles that is. Im looking for a source about the genesis of the story, "A Christmas Carol". Ive been doing some poking around and cant seem to find the thing that I am looking for. It is autobiographical in nature, possibly from a compilation of lost letters and could be nestled in a near recent publication of previously unreleased writings by the author. If anyone has any idea of what Im talking about, please drop me a line! Happy Holidays and glad to be here! :santasmil

The below link is a decent site and has some interesting biographical lead-up to his writing it:

Hi jollieollie,
Welcome to the forum!I hope you enjoy your stay. With the Dickens, I'm sorry but I haven't read A Christmas Carol for so long;though I remember studying it in class, but that was quite a few years ago.I could probably help out with another of his text, like David Copperfield or Nicholas Nickleby as I read those in more recent years. But I would suggest sparknotes, which provide quite alot of helpful resources with numerous texts.Anyway, have fun.Bye for now.:)

Sorry Jolly, While I enjoy Dickens, I'm not an expert. Have you Googled or Yahooed it? When you find out, can you let us know? I'm interested.
