There is actually a movie out called Equillibrium. It is based in sort of the same futuristic world. The movie does'nt follow the book. Instead, the main charecter is a member of the thought police. basicaly everyone has to take this shot and it causes them not to feel. the main charecter (I forgot his name, we'll call him smith) forgot to take his shot and experienced feeling for the first time. As i said before, smith is a high rienking officer in the thought police organization (the movie does'nt call them thought police though). He loves having feelings so much that he begins to skip his shots. basically the thought police arrest anyone in posetion of any art, animals, books, etc. Eventually, smith starts to play around at the crime scenes(secret rooms that people keep that have art and stuff in) and coolects books and such. he then finds a puppy and shows compasion for it. basically he turns to an underground association and destroys the government from the inside. Pretty good movie. a bit slow at first but pretty good later on.
