The film "Reality Bites" received bad reviews when it came out in 1994, but I don't understand why. The movie is excellent youth dramady. Winona Ryder and Ethan Hawke are locked in this intense love-hate relationship. When they aren't making goo-goo eyes, they're hissing insults at each other. Jeanine Garafalo is the sharp-tongued friend who plays big sister to everyone. The gay room-mate making a "coming out" documentary film to show his mother is hilarious. Slacker nihilism decorates their apartment like grungy wall paint. It's Generation X meets "Sex And The City."

Anyone else like this film?

Reality Bites, The Breakfast Club, and Waynes World are my top "teen" movies.

I love The Breakfast Club, but Wayne's World is a bit too silly for me. I would substitute Say Anything in the top three list.

But I knew people like Wayne and Garth, heck I was people like Wayne and Garth.

I knew people like Wayne and Garth in high school, but I avoided them as much as possible.

Good thing we didn't go to High School together.

I had friends like Wayne and Garth, i had absolutely nothing in common with them but found underneath that..well what would you call it exactly, developmental delay syndrome or something they were sweet down deep.
way way way way down deep. And just the sight of them could make me aim for the heavens way way way up there. The rest of my honors class avoided those kids like they had lice. No kidding and that sort of made me sad.
