David Byrne of the Talking Heads just revealed he is an alien transvestite: a female alien trapped in the body of a male human -- and trying to eat his way out with two mouths. He wants a mother ship to take him back to his native planet in the Zunork Nebula.

Giiirrrrrlllllllll, grab a cup of coffee and sit down!!! This is happening at work. A shipping guy, we'll call him "Ship", is married. His wife is known to be a little "off kilter". There was a 22 year old girl working here, we'll call her "Label". Label is married also, but her husband is in prison. Well, label and ship had an affair. The other night, ship was at home with his wife and he said "I'm gonna go get something to eat." Ship's wife said "I'll drive you", and she drove him straight to Label's house and told him to get out. Ship had to call a friend to come and pick him up, the firends wife works in the office next to mine which is how I know the gossip.

lol! Well, my best friend has jsut dunped her boyfriend for her now "ex's-" best friend. they are no longer best friends, but for some reason her new boyfriend just sold his $300 guitar for $60 to no one other than her ex-! Talk about kissing up! This could be a really good fight if it were to get to drastic measures!

thanks! ok so at work there is this one guy ( library) and the rest of us are all women. We'll call him Tom. Anyway about a month back he gets there in the morning to open up and there is a letter addresed to him and in it is some poetry someone has written to him, about a week later 10 minutes before closing time a man calls to ask tom if hes involved with anyone because hes got a realative who fancies him somtrhing rotten. Then he went to a training day and a guy asks him out. He has a lovley girl friend. And so hes quitting and going to join the fireservice.
(ok fine that not why hes quitting hes quitting becase being a library assistant s apparntly a dead end job and doesnt pay very welland he could be using his degree) me I think hes fed up of wome 20 or so years older than him trying to give him there number and the rest of us rolling around the floor laughing :D

Label claims to be pregnant. While I was on vacation someone (we're pretty sure Label) came up to work and slashed the hell out of Ships tires. I'm not sure why, but I'll find out, Ship is currently in jail...

Oh, my goodness! Papaya, you work with some shifty characters. :eek2: Or, do you think Label is some kind of black widow who keeps framing her lovers for crimes they didn't commit? Two men in jail! She sounds like a keeper. :p *shudder*

I love the part about Ship's wife driving him to Label's house, though. Wish I could give that lady a cookie. How awesome. A woman I work with is having an affair with a married man, and she talks about his wife like she's some sort of bitter *****. I just have to keep my mouth shut and pretend I'm not bothered, but I feel so bad for that poor wife.

What,
How in the world did you do that, I only just made five hundred and I am exhausted.
Do you guys post forty things a day or what?
At any rate congratulations.
I hesitated to even check out this thread because I don't even like the word gossip.
But one thing I learned lately that was sort of strange....
Johnny Depp said after making Charlie and the Chocolate factory, due to the high heel boots he had to wear, stylletos actually and the type of clothes, he found he was now fascinated with ladies and girls' clothing and women's high heels. He said it was starting to worry him.
Someone told me he is good friends with Tim Burton and his girlfriend Helena-Bonham Carter and also with Marilyn MAnson who babysat his children(yikes) So I guess the apparel thing doesn't amount to much in the scheme of things.

I thought Tim Burton's girlfriend was that model? What's-her-name? Lisa Marie. She's been in just about every one of his movies since they got together, which is a bit of a shame, considering her acting ability. But if Tim likes her, she must be a nice enough gal. But then, Bonham-Carter was in Corpse Bride (lord, what a stinker that one was), so I suppose it's possible that he's with her now.

Knowing Mr. Depp, he probably said it in jest, whether it be true or not (and if so, go Johnny! :p) If any movie awakened his interest in women's clothing, though, I would have thought it would be Ed Wood.

If you look up her bio you will see that Helena is indeed with Tim Burton and they have a son called Billy Ray.

I didn't like Big Fish, either, but not because it depressed me (Looney and Depressing are my middle names!), I just thought it was poorly done. Burton has these wonderful artistic visions, then seems to always cave in to what he thinks the "public" (or possibly the studio) wants, and the result is a little too Hollywood for people who like quirky, and a little too quirky for those who want Hollywood. He also doesn't seem to be very good at directing people; even award-winning actors come off as stilted and amateurish, with occasional gifted exceptions such as Johnny Depp. In my opinion, Burton would do better as just a producer and art director.

I think he is wearing too many hats and always something goes amiss.I really like the magical sort of music he used in Edward Scissorhands and Charlie and the Chocolate factory. For the music, credit Burton's friend Danny Elfman, former member of the 80's band Oingo Boingo. Besides being responsible for the scores to (I believe) every one of Burton's movies, he also composed the theme to the Simpsons. I heart Danny Elfman. But (returning to the subject for a moment) even he botched the job on Corpse Bride. Those lyrics were horrendous!

my family so loves the music and words of all the songs in the johnny depp version of charlie that as soon as deep roy starts his wierd movements they jump up and start singing "Augustus gloop Augustus gloop that greedy little nincompoop." It is quite disconcerting. for myself I like the music and words to Veruca Salt the little brute has just gone down the garbage shute." I did not know Elfmans' background but I did find his musical scores to be BIG and noisey and very eighties that is for sure.
And did you know that Helena Bonham Carter was once in one of the most explicit nude scenes made for whatever genre that movie was. hard to t hink of Charlie bucket's mom, so gentle and frail and such doing that. but I personally think most hollywood people one sandwhich short of a picnic. but that is jsut me.
you acted Em? how great. I was in some plays,my last at the university of Calgary. But honestly I couldn't stand all those people staring at me. I would rather be in a dark quiet room doing research under a little environmentally healthy ultra spectrum light.
I did however enjoy the roses I was given. I love roses.

I disagree with the statement that Elfman's scores are usually big and noisy. Danny Elfman's scores tend to be, in my experience, very sweeping and firm. He uses a lot of choral sounds, woodwinds, and some of the lighter brasses, in contrast with John Williams's (my personal favorite) magnificent trumpets and strings. Danny Elfman is practically the go-to guy for superhero scores (Spider-Man, Batman, Hulk, the video game Fable...you might also recognize his style from Beetlejuice and the Men in Black films), but I hear that the music he does with his band is very different from his movie scores.

er um, I beg your pardon sir Robin, I was referring to just the music in Charlie. The use of the horns makes it particularly noisey just as they do say in a las vegas review or some such thing. it was not meant to be rude.
my family would agree with you one hundred per cent.

honestly if you take the time to get to know just about anybody in a condo situation or apartment you will find that aside from maybe two or three families most live such undisciplined scattered lives that soap operas seem as only a poor imitation of their lives. last year I decided to get to know just a handful of neighbors. In about a week my email box was flooded with the most horrendous stuff-this person threatened that person over a parking space, this person is sleeping with a person further down only he is cheating on her at the same time and now she is on tranquillizers and has found herself following him. this one tried to committ suicide so my family and I were having to go over to sit with him and watch over him. His wife resented his terminal illness so was drinking herself into oblivion and waking up h alf the estate with her loud voice. so of course we needed to watch over her and help her as much as possible. this guy and his buddy , both filthy rich spoiled brats in their twenties were selling drugs to super scarey people who showed up at all hours and they befriended a certain girl and her roomie at the end of the street and convinced them to put in a grow up in their basement, naturally the poor people next door on the other side found to their horror that all their new flooring lifted off because of the water and excess moisture. oh it goes on and on and on. I quietly backed away from everyone except the gentleman with parkinson's and his wife and gratefully locked the door and retreated to the computer room to spend more time with my fam, my faeries and elves(children's stories.)
I have always maintained if you help a child to have a passion to help others, teaching guitar or dance, street ministry to the desitute and hopeless, volunteering with the elderly or children, then the children see life for what it is and not for what they want materially and they become so much more balanced and disciplined and don't waste their time staying a juvenile delinquent forever causing the neighborhood a million headaches.
still Papaya you do lead a very interesting and absorbing sort of life and you are still sane and articulate and a good forum friend. you can't beat that

Wow Night, you seem to live such an exotic life. Do you like dates. Don't know why I ask, just wondering I guess.
Let's see,
oh yes our Mayor was voted in by a landslide, well as of a month ago he is now 'former' and he was only thirty. He is incredibly handsome and used to be a disc jockey. I knew him as a friend and he was so nice.
well he is also brilliant and began bringing a lot of new and innovative business into our valley and everyone loved him he had been a few pounds overweight so he joined a gym, pumped iron and ended up looking like a movie starr. his wife left him, he still has his two little girls whom he adores, so he got a girl that looks like something from those muscle and fitness mags.
And then the bomb fell. Seems he was so generous with our taxpayer money that he was found out to have spent in just one twelve month period about twenty nine thousand dollars on food and drinks alone, wineing and dining with prospective clients. which got him into trouble. worst of all he formed a company with a well known business man in town with a good reputation and asked the man for a large amount of money as his half toward a lucrative venture-some european spa thing. And wouldn't you know it -it never existed. So he was forced out of office,in the paper he is seen as standing in front of the library weeping. But all of us know most of council is as crooked as a bad road and given the opportunity they would have done worse. And at anyrate they all knew about it. it was only when some persistant citizens began making waves that they came forward.
The last time I saw Sean he was a little heavier once more and standing by the frozen food section dressed in jeans and a sweat shirt. He looked so tired. He really is a good person who was too young and inexperienced to be having so much power and responsibility. I said hi to him and saw how broken he was. I feel badly and mean to have him over for a quiet dinner. we all care about him and he has given the money back.

Hi, yellowfeverlime - long time no see! Do you mean what movies Johnny Depp's in currently? If so he's in The Libertine right now and just did the Corpse Bride, voice over.

Other movies:

Finding Neverland
Once Upon a Time in Mexico
Pirates of the Caribbean (currently working on the 2nd and 3rd ones)
Sleepy Hollow
Platoon
A Nightmare on Elm Street
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Dead Man
Benny and Joon
What's Eating Gilbert Grape
Donnie Brasco
Ed Wood

And a slew of other's. He usually plays quirky parts but he's an excellent actor!

so you're a guy eh? I was wondering and wondering. such a cool name.
I tried reallyhard to not like Johnny Depp but he is such a strange and almost mystical sort of person on screen, so he won me over. I actually don't know many guys that like him persay. I think he was magnificent in Finding Neverland.
I always see Jennifer Anniston or whatever her name is on all the tabloids by the check out. And then of course Angelina Jolie right across from her. Both of them fighting over Brad Pitt? I'd rather be smacked with a rolling pin.
Can't those two just duke it out so that other equally boring people can be on the covers for me to look at as I stand waiting for someone with six hundred items to be rung thru.

You guys forgot Edward Scissorhands! I love that movie so much. It's corny, but I love it.

I'm just not a fan of the big-budget Hollywood blockbuster style, but if one good thing came of the Pirate movie, it's that more people are noticing Mr. Depp's ability as an actor. Throughout the years, the most common comment I hear about him is, "He's so dreamy... but he's a little odd, taking all these strange movie roles." In my opinion, he's one of the best actors of his generation, and possibly the best character actor, but people don't pay attention to that because he just happens to be "dreamy." They think he's weird because people as good-looking as he is usually take the romantic leads, which guarantee a big paycheck and lots of publicity. Johnny's chosen self-respect via artistic achievement, which is not as easy as it sounds.

Okay, I'll stop now. :p I just always feel compelled to say that when Johnny Depp comes up. I'm not stalking him, or anything.

You know Ive never thought of him as dreamy come to think of it I dont think Ive ever found anyone dreamy.
