so what exactly made Julia feel love for Winston? I find it very odd that Julia would all of a sudden "love" winston. Sure, she could have a crush(which would also be a little odd because winston is almost twice her age). what made her love him? she did"nt even know him to begin with and they did the funky :ladysman: the first time they really ever met. odd.xxx

I think the Fact that Julia has feelings for Winston is ment to confuse us and to make us really think on the one hand this is an emotionaly dead society and on the other dose Julia really love Winston ? Orwell never really tells us this Julia and Winston hade intercourse merely to rebel against Big Brother

I don't really think that she was in love with winston but merely intoxicated with rebelling against big brother. I beleive it was more of an infatuation, where as for winston it was love, but an unreturned love, that they both expressed in hysical ways.

(did the funky...what era are you from? :D )

I don't think either of them were in love with each other. Which is rather obvious if you think about how much time they actually spent together (not much). Julia was attracted to something in Winston which suggested to her that he was against the party. Just like the way Winston was attracted to O'Brien. Julia lusted for rebellion, nothing else. The world of 1984 is a dystopia that is completely devoid of love.

i see winston loving julia since julia showed him the world he wanted to see. orwell put in alot about how winston was so obsessed with meeting julia. so i think winston loved julia. as for the feelings in return, it did as though julia wanted winston for the feeling of rebellion against big brother.

also isn't it odd that julia was apart of the antisex junior or whatever club but she was sneaking off and having what sounded like a lot of sex
