You know, I am not even sure I read books published this year, this year....

I can only think of one, "Sylvanus Now" by a Canadian author named Donna Morrissey. That is the only book I read in the same year it was published this year... I usually do the second hand store thing, so I rarely am reading the "in" things.

Misunderstood the thread.

The only book I have read which is published this year is "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince."

Err, Pensive, the original poster was asking about books published this year.

Edit:

My top three:

1. A Feast For Crows - George R. R. Martin (Book 4 of the aSoIaF saga)
2. The Shadow Roads - Sean Russell (book 3 of the Swan War trilogy)
3. The Safe-Keeper's Secret - Sharon Shinn (standalone - young adult fantasy)

1) Shaggy Dog and Black Sheep; The origins of even more phrases we use everyday.-- Albert Jack ( along with the first Red herrings and white elephants my fav books of the year but theyre not fiction :D)
2)The time travellers wife by (unspellable :D )
3)Valiant --Holly Black
4) haunted-- Kelley Armstrong ( not the best in the series but fun none the less)
5) Drak mirror--- Juliet Marillier (begging of new series and I didnt really like it )
There all the books Ive read that wre published this year. Not realy a great list now books published since 2000 thats another story.
Actually I dont really like the new books I could think of a list of Books that were hyped up that I didnt over the last 2 years.

Thanks everybody. Shall we have a go at since 2000? Do you want to list more? Liked to see the YA book on the list. Non-fiction, poetry, plays, short stories are all great to see, also. I am going to try to read them all. Love to know what other people are reading. Hmmm, the series will be a challenge, because I will want to start from the beginning, I guess.

The most recent book I've read is "State of Fear" by Michale Chrichton. I'm not sure if that was published this year or last....

The Time Travellers Wife by Audrey Nebbenegger
And, although it is really good, I read it last year, so this is not a 2005 book.
