I read the TOP 10 MOVIE post below, and then I was thinking about the first movie I watched years ago.
Do you remember the first film you ever saw?
What is the first film you remember as a little kid?
...Labryinth.
I think I saw this film called Labryinth, on video, when I was really young.
Has anyone seen the film Labryinth?I think this could be the first film(non-animated) I ever remember seeing. There was a maze and a fantasy-like tale, with faerys, strange characters, and some evil goblin king this teenage girl(a very young, Jennifer Connelly) has to face.

Since my parents never went to theaters, I saw my first movie on television after we got our first TV set when I was 7 years old. Believe it or not, the film was "I Walked With A Zombie," a very well-done B production from the 1940s that is still entertaining to me today.
I instantly became addicted to the Saturday night "Shock Theater," a TV series from Chicago that showed old horror movies like Frankenstein and Dracula. The host, Marvin, wore beer-bottle glasses and he was always torturing his wife during movie breaks.

First film I ever saw was The Little Mermaid at the cinema, I remember getting scared when Ursula came on the screen.
Hmmm, interesting, but very difficult to say. Though it came out sometime in the 1970's (. . . google . . . 1974), I remember seeing Benji (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071206/) in theaters once as a child, perhaps, in the mid-1980's. Though my parents and grandparents usually encouraged mostly educational videos, we visited theaters now and then, where I also remember seeing Ghostbusters.

Of course I have seen Labryinth, though many years have lapsed since then. I thought it entertaining as a child, but now all I can say: David Bowie with a mullet - yikes! :D

When I first saw the topic, I started to remember. It's nice to see Labyrinth is a common point among some members. Very nice movie, and the fact that Jennifer Connelly was in it is definitely a plus (yes, she and I go waay back ;)).
Another one I recall seeing when I was little was The Dark Crystal, has anyone seen it?

I remember Labyrinth, too. Got it on DVD at the Wal-Mart bargain bin for five and a half dollars...
Interesting movie. Somewhat odd, but interesting. Like if the Muppets used controlled substances.
As for my first movie, I'm not really sure. Probably The Sound of Music.

First movie.......I think it was Snow White.....
I remember The Labyrinth. I used to make my mom play it over and over, till eventually it got "lost".
The first movie I remember watching was Gremlins. I remember being terrified; my little sister had nightmares. Wasn't that the movie that got the age ratings going? I saw it again about 18 years later and laughed my head off!

I have no idea I watched alot....probably Snow white I should think I know I had my grandmother watch The jungle book ( cartoon disney version) through wiith me 7 times the night my sister was born on my secondbirthday and dance round and sing at EVERY single song.
The first grown up film? would be more difficult everything was censored on the tv anyway so I just watched whatever my mum was watching when she had time to sit down and watch the tele.
Maybe Ruthless People with Danny Devito and Bette Midler Found my mums copy when I was 5 or 6 while she was sleeping and watched it became addicted to Danny Devito that day.

The first movie I remember seeing at the theater is Freaky Friday - the original with Jodie Foster. I remeber this movie because my cousin came with us and he couldn't sit still and my mom had to take him out to the hallway where the usher let him vacuum the floors which made him happy (I got to stay and watch the movie).
OMG Labyrinth!!! I remember that! Wow that's so 80s!!!
I have no clue what's the first movie I've ever seen... I remember among the very first, Disney's Fantasia, and at school they were always showing it that Herbie The Crazy Car thing... I hated it :D

Well, alot of us were born in the 80s, Koa.;)Though I bearly remember them, I can only really recall the 90s myself.
Sure, I adore the 80s and I sometimes regret having lived them only as a child...

The 60s and 70s made the 80s seem like the dull 50s.

Pete`s Dragon, a story about a gentle dragon & an
orphan boy. I was six years old and it was the first
movie I´ve ever seen on the big screen - a magical
moment :-). What moved me most about it was
the way Elliot, the dragon, stood by his side,
defending him, solacing him... and roasting an apple
with his fiery breath! :-)))

I cannot honestly recall, but I imagine it was some sort of Walt Disney and I probably lived in that world for a while after. Being in ballet and piano lessons and being very young and immature for my age, that was probably it.Just watched Cinderella today with baby Hasia, now digitally remastered and it still gave me a whimsical feeling and I felt tired watching her do all that housework in that incredibly large chateau.

Bambi was the first movie I remember. I doubt it was the first movie I saw, but it is the one that stayed with me. I was about 5 years old, and even cried when the mother was killed. The fires were really scary too.

What do you mean, "stupid movie?" Those were some of the best special effects ever made, and the book is a profound and comparatively novel (finally! A movie about the dangers of technology that doesn't involve robots!) approach towards making its appoint.

ssorry M'Lord although you are right about the special effect, big time, I did not think that that Hollywood movie did justice to the book whatsoever. I can't tell you why it is just how I feel.

Yes, I agree with you. Few films are capable of measuring up to the book from which they are derived, especially Crichton. But the movie in its own right was well-made, in my opinion, and took the best visual ideas from the book and brought them into the movie. The John Williams score doesn't hurt, either.

what do you mean even?
I always cry when mother dies or rather when babi realises shes dead.
When Simba realises his dads dead.
At somepoint in beauty and the beast but I havent seen that in about 6 years so I dont remeber when exactly.

I don't remember the first movie I ever watched. I remember going to the theater with my 1st grade class and watching something but I don't have any idea what it was. (yes, mh, there were theaters in those days!!) Probably something about history or some educational thing.

I was only 1 1/2 when I went to the theater to see "The Empire Strikes Back". I can honestly say that I have always been able to visualize the Luke/Vadar duel on the big screen. I guess that made such an impression on me because I have always been able to remember that, and that is what I automatically think of with that film.

I had a tape that my uncle made with the first Aladin(Disney) movie and The Lion King on it. That was the first movie I remember watching.
