You know the feeling of being in a new class, sport, college or otherwise, and having to wait your turn while everyone goes around in a circle introducing themselves? The last time I did this was in a Watercolor class, My face is still red from the experience. I don't think I said anything too ridiculous it's just I hate to be the center of attention. I really wanted to say Hello to all of you out there, though. I've been reading some posts when I have the time, which isn't often, I've got three young children. It seems to me that a lot of you are still in school, so It's kind of nice to see what the young brains are up to. I love reading, and I'll read almost anything, at the moment I have a couple of books going: Here be Dragons by Sharon Kay Penman, Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon, The Laws of Evening by Mary Yukari Waters, and the ever present poetry that sits around the house.
Anyway, Hello.

hello Riesa :)
dont worry about being in the spotlight, i wrote my introduction the other day, feeling really embarressed and not knowing what to write. but this network works really well because you can post your opinion or just read others posts until you summon up the courage to post (*points at self*)
we all have one thing in common, love for Literature! :) so welcome.

Welcome, welcome! Hopefully, some of us youngsters will do your generation proud here.
Greetings, Riesa, and welcome to the forum. :)
What an unique yet admirable introduction! From what it seems, I think you will fit in quite well here; one must merely have, at least, a slight affinity for literature. Still showing your passion for literature with three children, I imagine, must seem a real challenge, while attempting to balance reading time, but, no doubt, it will show an excellent influence.

Hello Riesa,
Welcome to the Forum! I don't like being the center of attention either! >_< But don't worry about it- like bimboh said earlier.
See you around and I hope that you enjoy it here. :D

Hey Riesa,
I'm sure you will fit in here very well because we are a very accepting bunch here at LitNet, or at least from what I see here, being reasonably new myself.
I hope you settle in quickly and find your place here with us.
See you round the threads!!

This is Just to Say*
That I, too, neglected
to welcome you
though I have enjoyed and admired
your poems, but,
noting your aversion to attention,
I will pretend
to ignore you
from now on.

 thanks, Prince. I have come far in my aversion to attention though, I've found it's actually not that terrible to receive small increments at appropriate times. It has been almost two years after all, so I guess I've managed a slight amount of personal growth. :p
and by the way, Welcome to Litnet yourself.

Very well then, small increments: today, your eyes. Are they hazel or blue or brown? Do they twinkle with sympathetic merriment at the follies of the world? Do they narrow in disapproving anger when one of your kids misbehaves? Do they grow misty and seem to turn inward when the thought of some new poem arises or your lover draws near...
