Hello, Thanks for reading this. I always look forward to reading the Sonnet and always have many questions. I knw that Brother B. at my High School tried but I just couldn't get it!!
How does one go about truly understanding the Olde Script and meanings without a formal English major?

Hello marvfl :)
is there a particular work in "Olde Script" you are referring to?
Hello, marvfl, welcome to the forum.
I, too, have subscribed to the Sonnet-A-Day e-mail for longer than I have participated on this forum, and every time I read each one, I discover something new.
Trying to decipher old English, I agree, never seems easy. Reading slowly and aloud, I find, helps very much, but certain words read with some . . . impossibility. Some additions of almost every book in old English have footnotes and introductions to help the reader without a Ph.D. in literature, which I usually read.
Good luck!
