Im so use to writing on pure emotion, mostly sadness but you get the driff that is now becomes hard to sometimes write. I cant even get any insperation out of music or what not. How come I write better when my life feels as if it is in rock bottom. Now all I can write it seems is love poetry. That is not like me lol. My dark morbidity has gone away. Strange, realy it is to me. I never knew emotions affected my writing so much.

You have to feel it before you can take a stab at describing it. If you don't feel it, or can't imagine it, you can't write it. All art is emotion. But happiness and contentment are emotions as well, and while not morbid to some, they can be hiddeous to others. So write your love poems, write out a grocery list, write anything. When life seems to scrape bottom we see 'life' in a cleaner light, humility reigns, our vision clears. Emotion paints in the clear the life untainted by thinking. Good luck with 'writers block', and one word of advice: be careful what you wish for....
....and of course, Wecome to a great website. Stick around, it does get interesting with the crew that haunts this place.........
As one of the forum's most brilliant minds stated above, all of his advice of which I agree with, no art will exist without emotion, thought, and a balance between intuition and logic, neither of which one can force. I concur with the statement that most poetry seems easiest to write with sadness, particularly because it distinguishes itself as the most simple emotion to express to one's self, but the least common emotion to express to others; one communicates more frequently with others, for example, while in happy, as opposed to while sad or angry.
Though I usually do not give advice, especially in writing, I promote free expression - not all of your writing must meet the expectations of forming a poem, a specific structure, expressing a certain emotion, etc. Most importantly, not every poem must appear perfect; I have notebooks of poetry that I would prefer burned before sharing it with others.
For other tips, try freewriting: time yourself for 'x' number of minutes and write - never stop writing - repeat the same word, sentence, and/or write what comes to mind. On another note, try writing in different emotions other than sadness: equal, if not more, expression can come from a diversity of biases that emotion can play.
Good luck!

Dear deadpoet,
I am new in this group. When I read your message, I found myself in it. If I got you right, I feel the same. I find myself in frenetic mood to write especially when I am in deep down in my life. When I am happy, I can't write much. And for now, I am in a let-go period of my life, I can write nothing. This bothers me. This means that I write just to get out the trash inside of me and to relax by writing the things I can't scream out.. may be??

I believe that is the best reason for writing. To write what you feel and what is kept trapt inside creates the best and strongest fealings that are felt within your poetry. I am happy that people can relate to how I write.
Fire at youre fingertips pen and paper ready in hand.
