Hey Jude by Beetles and Hotel California by Eagles are two of my most favourite songs.

In addition to these, I also like Happy Together by Turtles, Shutup by Black eyed peas, Insensitive by Jane Arden, Metamorphoses by Hillary Duff, Someone is Watching Over me by Hillary Duff, Shall we Dance, My Heart Will Go On from Titanic, Without you (My fair lady's song)

I also like nearly every song of Michelle Branch, Avril Lavigne, Eminem, Linkin Park and some songs of West Life. :D

I think I have left many more songs and singers which I like. :p

Wow - I think I may be the enigma here. I've got Dissociative Identity Disorder (formerly known as Multiple Personality Disorder) when it comes to music. Depending on my mood, I can groove to:

The more decadent techno (Tribal House especially)
Dark Wave (The Cruxshadows, Apoptygma Berzerk, VNV Nation, Birthday Massacre)
Traditional Goth (Sisters of Mercy, Type O Negative, Rosetta Stone)
Industrial Music (KMFDM, Thrill Kill Kult, Lords of Acid)
Disco (esp Disco Inferno by The Tramps)
80's eclectic (Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Go-Gos, Duran Duran, early Madonna)
Electronica (The Crystal Method, The Prodigy)
New and old Punk (Sex Pistols, Velvet Revolver)
New Metal (Linkin Park, Godsmack, Disturbed, Staind, Nickelback)
Country (Big and Rich)
The Oompa Loompa's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" - I love the Augustus Gloop song!

Currently playing in my car: Disturbed's new CD "A Thousand Fists"

In general I hate: anything played on the radio - unless it is "The Work Release" program and they're playing Drowing Pool's "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor".

I also have a strong distaste for Celtic music because I am depressed enough as it is without listening to that sentimental sap. I feel like throwing myself off a balcony listening to some of those songs.

Favourite genres are Metal and (Hard)Rock. These genres are contain a lot of different sounds, so a few examples will show a more clear view of what I like about these genres.

My favourite band by far is Iron Maiden. These guys have been making quality music for twenty five years. Good songs include 'Fear of The Dark', 'Rime of The Ancient Mariner', Hallowed Be Thy Name' and Pashendale, these are just a few examples of their more epic songs.

Judas Priest is also really good. Albums like painkiller and this years' Angel of Retribution are excellent exampe Been around even longer, and are still making good music, unlike Black Sabbath which hasn't produced anything noteworthy since Ronnie James Dio left.

This same Ronnie James Dio is an incredible singer, and is also one of my favourite artists. The album "Heaven and Hell" by Black Sabbath is an absolute classic. His solo work is also good, as well as his time in Rainbow.

Other bands and or artists that deserve to be mentioned are Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Muse, U2, Deep Purple, Scorpions, Queen, The Doors and the Golden Earrings.

Apart from this large list of artists, I listen to everything from classical music to 80's electronic music. The big exception is modern Rap and Hiphop, and a lot of todays pop music. What ever happened to the hiphop the likes of RunDMC used to make? While their music wasn't amongst my favourites of styles, at least it was about something other then the biggest gun and *****es etc. As todays Rap and Hiphop seems to be all about.

DEVO. Jihad Jerry and the Evildoers. DOVE, The Band of Love. Big Dirty Farmers. The Wipeouters. Any part of the DEVO kingdom. DEV2.0 not so much...whatever.

I also like Man or Astro-Man?, Oingo Boingo, Adam and the Ants, Atoms, The Ramones, Jihad Jerry and the Evildoers, Polysics, Depeche Mode, The Aquabats, The Hives, Blondie, The Tubeway Army, classical music (including opera), movie/TV series soundtracks, Alice Donut, Klaus Nomi, EBN, Servotron, Dick Dale and His Del-Tones, the Beach Boys.

Etc.

Etc.

Most of the bands I listen to have some kind of gimmick. I don't know why I fall for those. I really need to stop and listen to some fairly well known "normal" bands. I remember one time I was going to look up Styx and I ended up spending the evening listening to Polysics.

I have really diverse tastes when it comes to music, I'll listen to just about anything. The only exception, generally speaking, is "bubble gum" pop (pretty much anything playing on MTV... if they even play music videos anymore). My favorite artists/bands are: Bob Dylan, The Pogues (Bob Dylan and Shane MacGowan are my favorite songwriters of all time), Bob Marley & The Wailers, The Velvet Underground, Tom Waits, and Frank Sinatra.

I'm currently going through an 80s/early 90s phase, so I've been listening to a lot of Meatloaf, Ronnie James Dio, Journey, and Tom Petty.

My favorite "Gimmick" band is Me First and The Gimme Gimmes. They do punk versions of famous songs.

I love Me First! But they're really not a gimmick band, they're just a cover band. Their version of Don't Cry for Me, Argentina is awesome.

Ill list a few...they're mostly punk rock/indie/alternative -type stuff.

Paramore
Jack's Mannequin
Flickerstick
Jimmy Eat World
1997
Incubus
The Alkaline Trio
Jamison Parker (who does an AMAZING cover of the Tears for Fears song "Everybody wants to Rule the World)
Mae
Samiam
Sparta

and the rest of the stuff I listen to (this is about to get random):

The Beatles
The Clash
The Who
ABBA
Roisin Murphy
Michael Buble
Enya
Earth, Wind, & Fire
Dave Brubeck (and some other Jazz stuff)

Man, it's so bad. If a band doesn't have kooky costumes they usually don't attract me. I blame DEVO.

Anyways, I've heard of that band, now I'll hafta look 'em up! Been looking up Zolar X 'n' the Radioactive Chicken Heads lately...both gimmick bands...

I love:

Kings of Leon (absolute favourite)
Hollie Smith (an awesome New Zealand singer/songwriter)
Christina Aguilera
Nirvana
Duffy (just started listening to her album)
The Ramones
Newsboys

I have a lot of favourites, but my problem is I listen to an album over and over and end up not being able to listen to that music anymore!

You are my soul mate! Iron Maiden is just remarkable. They are my favorite, but they are definitely top five. I do have to disagree about Sabbath not making anything good since Dio left; they made a few pretty damn good albums with Tony Martin.

I really like the progressive stuff; bands like Dream Theater, Queensryche, Pain of Salvation, etc. Lately, I've been listening to a lot of Opeth. I'm not really a fan of the growling vocals, in fact, I avoid them most of the time, but Opeth is so good that I decided to overlook it at first and in fact, have grown accustomed to and fond of their vocals (though I still largely avoid growling vocals).

You guys listen to too many eternal songs. Those beautiful melodies really did and do hypnotize audiences.
I listen to all kinds of music, as they are good. But the major is pop.
Favorite bands :
- You guys may not know S.H.E. They are an Asian girl band, so I don't think you guys know them. But they really sing great music, and their voice is quite beautiful. May not very excellent, but beautiful. And their personality is good too.
- The Beatles. This is the first band I know, and probably the greatest band I've ever heard. Although they were a little rebellious, and their lives were in a pother, but nobody can beat them for decades, and their music is just too great.
- ABBA. This is quite like a family band huh ? Two married couples joined together, and form the most greatest band in the world.
- The Veronicas . I've just known them. Their voice is high and strong. A great band ^^
Favorites singers :
- Mariah Carey. No doubts about it.
- Hilary Duff.
- Sarah Brightman. Probably one of the most greatest singer nowadays huh ?

Favorite songs :
This must be a while.
- All S.H.E's songs.
- Hey Jude
- Hasta Manana
- Let it be
- I do I do I do I do I do
- In another life
- Who's gonna love you (Pussycat Dolls)
.........
