My mother has recently started to read A Million Little Pieces. I have to say that one day when I was extremely bored so I decided to look through it. I love his,the authors', who's name has left me at the moment, style. He has created his own punctuation, making it seem more stream of consciousness then anything ( I really don't know anything on the style of the book so if he has mentioned this I apologize for my ignorance).
I was wondering if anyone else has read the book and if so, could critique the book so I may view it through an opinion other than my mothers. Thank you.

Maybe it should be moved to General Literature section?!

I believe its just A Million Pieces, minus the little.
My mum read it too. She bought it for me to read. It was like the first book she read in 4 years. Shes excited for me to read it and while I am pretty certain it is a decent tale of drug use and self-deprecation and the journey of recovery, i just have so many others on my list to read too.

A Million Little Pieces by James Frey.
Really good book, though, I read it last month.

It was an okay book, but it certainly wasn't...pleasant. I like his style also, but I thoroughly dislike his material. It was disturbing; I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone, in case it might disturb them also.

Well, it is supposed to be disturbing, as it is about the unpleasantness of drugs and rehab and stuff.

That book and its sequel (My Friend Leonard) changed my life. I met the author too, at a book signing. I also made a thread about AMLP but it's no big deal.

The book is quite the thing right now. Another forum I go to, that has been pretty much all anyone has been talking about. I haven't read the sequel yet, I wanted to, but its hardcover and it is near Christmas and such. So, one day I will. I wouldn't say it changed my life, but it will not be a book that I will forget.
