I need help with these 3 questions. they are all from act IV and im completly lost, and i have a test on act IV tomorrow. any help you guys could give would really save me.

1 What is Friar Lawrence thinking when he tells Juliet to take the
vial?

2 What is Juliet thinking when she agrees to marry Paris?

3 What is Juliet thinking when she begs her father's forgiveness?

Kind Regards mike. feel free to email me at [email protected]

'What are they thinking' questions are pretty subjective. I guess the best place to start is with motivation.

So, the Friar gives Juliet the poison. He's trying to help her and Romeo. Does that mean he approves of what they're doing? How did he feel about the wedding he performed in the first place? Does he think that this crazy plan is going to work?
Juliet finally agrees to marry Paris. Is she sincere? Does she regret lying to her parents and to Paris? Does she regret marrying Romeo? How does she feel about Paris himself? Does she object to him as a person, or does she just object to marrying him because of the polygamy? Juliet's characterization thus far has been of a good, obedient daughter, a bit on the naive side. How does she feel about deceiving her parents? Is this contradicting her earlier characterization, or changing it?
Same basic ideas go for question three.

I hope that's helpful.
