1)I'm usually cheerful-I can make others smile
2)i've noticed people trust me a lot with their "secrets"...even the "deep, dark" ones
3)I Rarely get angry!

I'm observant. I try to learn from other's mistakes instead of making them myself. But I still manage to make quite a few anyway! ;)

Like Thoreau, I'm prone to regret my "good" qualities such as conforming to the idiotic expectations of my fellow man. My "bad" qualities are much more interesting.

U could tell us the bad "qualities" too if u admire them...

I would have liked to respond to this question with all the seriousness it deserves and in the most becoming manner, however, my incurably humble nature prevents me from doing so.

Please accept my sincere apologies.

U could tell us the bad "qualities" too if u admire them...

Let's see. Lazy (at peace with myself), unambitious (in tune with nature), rebel without a cause (fly in the ointment of society), free spirit (danger, Will Robinson!), free thinker (enemy of the State), sexual libertine (love dat stuff), humble genius (split personality), artist (see sexual libertine), cat lover (but not gay), paranoiac (I wouldn't be if THEY weren't persecuting me), skeptic (who needs gullible?), narcissist (i.e. magnificent physical specimen), visionary (the one-eyed man is king in the land of the blind), rugged individualist (among lemmings.)

And so forth.

Great starrwriter, I'm starting to feel I can love my bad qualities too.

But my first thought was to mention that I think I am quite reliable...

Reliability is a crutch.

uhh.....yeah, okay................look, take it easy with the 'bad' word. I've noticed the 'bad' word used quite often in these threads recently, flung about all willy-nilly like some verbal badge........well, its just unseemly behaviour coming from all you little angels................... *hmmm....some not so little I suppose*

(hehehehe.....reliability is a crutch.....haha....good one)

One good thing about me: I have friends spanning many cultures, many religions, lots of different colours of people, young people, elderly people, and every age in between, both sexes, rich and poor, illiterate, Phd's, ex-addicts, current strugglers, people with criminal records and ministers and their wives. Everyone is equal in my eyes, it is not just a platitude I espouse. It is my curse. It is kinda groovy.......

....uhhhh yes, blathering, an interesting word, kinda' rolls off of the tongue softly and somewhat thickly, kind of like lathering, but without the foamy white stuff....

....the word you are inquiring (Starrwriter) about would be... *drum roll* ......'bad'...... which is in fact a very good word..........but we'll not get into that just now.................

The "bad" word is bad? Are we in kindergarten?

lately i've been trying to lay off the nitpicking. in the past, i easily got irritated by anyone that used real bad grammar and could not resist correcting them. and i'm more lenient now. for example, had i seen this thread three months ago, i would of pointed out that "u" is a letter and is not interchangeable with the word "you," but the new me? nu-uh, that ain't nothin' to get all worked up over.

"a kind and forgiving nature" i discovered the other day after asking my girlfriend while in a slightly insecure mood...that's rubbish. Anyone can be kind and forgiving. Forgiveness comes from being too lazy to hold a grudge!

Good qualities about me! How can I tell but it is not me to judge. All I see in myself is bad things to be changed. I'm always in a fight with myself. What is good in me others find bad; I think is being always in quest of making of myself a better one.

I always believe that an elephant should never blow its own trumpet. Self-congratulatory words are never in good taste. But now that you have put the ball in my court I wish to say I am blessed with all good qualities ever there. God made me that way & I growing day by day discovering my potential. Life - its a great onion peel - layer by layer- its new. I get to know myself & I am happy.

is being emotional a good quality?

geetanjali
11-26-2005, 12:56 PM
About being emotional.. I am indefinite whether it is a good quality or not...I think much depends on the emotion & the cause & effect of that emotion. Am I right or do you have anything to differ ?

smilingtearz
11-26-2005, 01:07 PM
no ur actually right...in that case...im fine being emotional..thx geetanjali...
and anyways too much of anything is bad...i just have to be careful not to be too emotional

Starrwriter, you scare me to no end. I just would never survive in a battle of wits, much less an ordinary conversation, with you. You remind me of a friend I had in school who had similiar biting wit. I attempted to always stay on his good side. Oh man, could he find the vulnerable in people! It was great!

I admire your writing very much, from afar!

As for my good qualities:
Children and animals tend to like me, and I really, really try not to judge people.

AimusSage
12-19-2005, 12:27 PM
The good in me keeps all the people away, so the bad in me can't hurt them with a razor sharp edge.

The good in me also allows me to see the future in a more postive way. As a fortune teller that is the best thing ever. People are always willing to pay more for good fortune then they are for bad fortune. So if anyone wants their fortune told, you had better ask the good in me, as the bad in me tends to see a lot of dark things in the future. You may address the good in me as 'Dear Aimus' Or if you prefer the bad in me, just call me whatever you like, as long as it isn't Dear Aimus.

Obits? Oh my God, a cub newspaper reporter!

(Obit is journalism lingo for obituary or funeral notice published in a newspaper. Most newbie reporters start by writing obits or working in "the morgue" -- the library where old articles are catalogued and stored.)

Perhaps a bit late in the thread to be doing so, but I ask of you, starr, what's wrong with crutches? Do you have something against that which helps those in need get by? Or would you prefer that everyone remain a perpetually lame cripple to make yourself look better?

Besides, crutches are also remarkably useful for beating off lecherous old men. :p

here here M'Lord well said. And pertaining to something you said I know you are not and could never be ugly. Never for whatever you look like outwardly(I suspect lovely) you are beautiful on the inside. what is more wonderful than that for its lustre never fades.
Hey Starr have you tried your magic whistle or the anti hen repellant I gave you for Christmas yet?

Scheherazade

I'd love to bite you, Scher.I cannot let you. I don't think your vaccinations are up-to-date!
Besides, crutches are also remarkably useful for beating off lecherous old men. Since Starr is used to using Zimmer Frames (http://www.ca.com.au/daily/images/frame.jpg), he wouldn't know the benefits of crutches.

I think my only good quality is that I care deeply about each and every human and believe in the dignity of the human person. But I am not overly fond of myself. Iam very flawed and although I am trying daily to change, change has come at a snail's pace.

you make me feel like crying. thankyou. I believe you asked if I am a Jewess. Yes I am from the tribe of Judah, the royal house of David. But I am Messianic Jew(believe that Jesus the Christ is Messiah)and go to St. James Catholic church, a tiny church over a hundred years old. I am descended in the Davidic line thru(blush blush) David and Bathsheba, Solomon etc.
I think you are noble and a safe haven to people and CLEAN.( I have no idea why but I think that.)

Have you been on a date in the past decade?

Hmmm . . . does stalking count as dating?

But seriously: the nastiness I detect in your response leads me to think my innocent jest perhaps hit closer to home than I realized. Mr. Starrwriter, if you happen to have caught yourself a case of the crabs, there is nothing to be ashamed about: simply buy yourself the Quell, rid yourself of the crotch crickets, and say 'yes' to life. No need to pollute our discourse simply because you are currently Seņor Scratchy.

c) great listener, if i may say so myself.. at least lots of people i don't even know ask me for advice or whine about life to me...
b) great entertainer (in real life that is, vs pompous bore on forum :) )
