But it wasn't a dream . . . it was a place! And you....and you....and you were there! Doesn't anybody believe me? Oh, but anyway, Toto, we're home! Home! And this is my room -- and you're all here! And I'm not going to leave here ever, ever again, because I love you all! And -- Oh, Auntie Em -- there's no place like home!

Man, I love that movie. And how appropriate! Although, you probably meant it that way. :D

Surrender, Dorothy!

I recently saw a biopic of Judy Garland's life. She was 17 and loaded on drugs supplied by her mother and the studio while she was making "The Wizard of Oz."

Reminds me of a song recorded by some friends of mine:
"Uppers and downers are bad for you
They ain't like drinkin' wine."

I recall seeing footage of Judy Garland on a talk show when she was middle-aged. The host, attempting to coax some fond and endearing recollections from Judy concerning the making of The Wizard of Oz, asked her about the munchkins. She responded by calling them a bunch of nasty alcoholics.

Of course, the best thing about the munchkins is that some enterprising Hollywood producer had the presence of mind to capitalize on having so many midgets actors in the same place at the same time and made:

The Terror of Tiny Town!

Hollywood's first (and only) all midget western!
