IT ENDS HERE…

There’s no reason to be sad,
No reason to feel bad,
We have to part our ways,
And, keep our memories of those days.

We, were never meant to be,
Together can’t you see?
The distances are wide,
My feelings, they have died.

We are no more together,
We’re birds of different feather.
A mystery, our relation we shared,
Lies disclosed and bare.

Of the chains now I am free,
You have chosen t leave me,
Our bonding wasn’t true,
Now, I choose to forget you.

Good poem. And also good that the parting happened early before it is beyond help & control. Thank God there is`nt anything catastrohpic that happened. Its a well accepted & graceful parting. No great sorrows , afterall birds of different feather actually never really come together. It must have been that what they call lust & vanity. One day everyone opens their eyes .. sooner the better.

U know ur right..i so agree with that...no catastrphies...but don't u think a lot of "getting hurt" is involved??

of course there is a lot of hurt , but , that`s growing up...you fall...you struggle..you stand..you fall again..try & stand... soon you get walking...then you begin talking....then as you walk & talk...you might just fall again & I guess that is what this life is all about for most people. Then there are a sacred few who are intelligently endowded to always walk straight & that is success ...for me that is the triumph of life....where you never fall..you are never a slave... & you never enslave. No tight bondings & no sad partings.

but can a relationship that had once been really strong...ever die??

Darling Smilingtearz, look at the last but one line in the poem- it says-our bonding was never true--however strong it was, afterall it was not true-
The poet John Keats in his Ode on the Grecian Urn says in the last line-" TRUTH IS BEAUTY,BEAUTY TRUTH" finally the story boils down to the matter of truth.Truth is what matters most in life & in poetry as well. The truth is always before you, you just have to learn to focus vision to see the same. Good judgement comes from experience & experience comes from bad judgement.

Thats an excellent question!
From your poem, it would seem quite clear that you have let go of your boyfriend.
And your view of it -cut and dry-
But in light of your last question,
Within you, did it die?

hey outlandish outlander I dont want anyones ex-boyfriend/girlfriend giving excuses/justifications here. That's all beyond us who take pleasure in poetry. Just appreciate the involvement of the poet, the expression in pain. The poem in good inspite of the sadness. what do you yhink of the poem ? I think it is more of a pre-raphelite poem. If D.G.Rossetti read it he would have appreciated the effort.

Your a rather intense person Geetanjali. Relax.

SmilingTearz, Pour all the pain you've endured into a story.
And be thankful for the unfortunate way you've come to the inspiration.

Everything happens for a reason.

You say "It Ends Here",
BUT, for creative people with itchy fingers,
This is where it Begins.

~I'm on my way from misery to happiness today~
~un huh, uh huh, uh huh, uh huh~ :D
