To my beloved and deeply missed grandma

You're no longer with me
to share moments in life,
you battled with cancer
and sadly lost the strife

You're no longer with me
to warm me with your laugh,
you'll never say my name again
and it's breaking me in half.

You're no longer with me
to hold me and to care,
but you're my guardian angel
and you'll always be there.

Beautiful. If I were the author, though, I wouldn't put in the word cancer, but would replace it with a more emotional description of the disease. But I don't know if you're comfortable with that. Otherwise, simple and charming.

Cos i see what you felt in that moment of your live...
And i can tell you what you thougth when you were a baby...isnt it?

I really like this daniella. I've recently lost a beloved Great Aunt, so this struck me as very heartfelt. Thanks for sharing it.

And Rotty, you're right... now that you mention it I see that cancer isn't the most poetic word to use in my poem... it's a little too realistic :)
