I heard that Anne Frank was inspired by these characters of the books written by Cissy van Marxveldt titled Joop something. Apparently although they're very popular in Holand, no one's been translating them into English. Does anyone have any more info on these books? (And maybe if anyone reads Dutch, translate some excerpts here and there?) Thx.

Perhaps you can try and put religion aside. Picture day after day locked up with just your family, and some relatives. (After christmas we can almost al agree that that is a scary picture)
Now, add fear so constant that it turns into an evryday thing. And itīs al real. The boredom of it. The fear of it.
Perhaps that might spark some imagination?

Try reading mein kampf, and then research the concentration camps, it might give you an idea?
