online magazines/newspapers to write for?

hello,

i'm not sure whether i'm supposed to post this here or in General Chat, but since it's kinda sorta "literature"-related, here i am.

i was just wondering if anyone knows any semi-professional online magazines/newspapers that do accept submissions from random people instead of the well-chosen staff writers. by "semi-professional," i just mean not-managed-by-a-bunch-of-fourteen-year-olds-who-update-only-whimsically-and-eventually-tire-out. (i'd go for the real-professional, but i'm not that confident of my writing skills. :p)

eh. after writing for the amusement of myself/a few forums/websites for a couple years, i just thought to finally do some "serious" writings. undoubtedly this would be a good experience, and who knows, if fate wills it, i might become an actual journalist in the future. ;)

i also need that pain of having some of my articles rejected. i'm not a masochistic, but the competition in the places i've sent to here and there is almost nonexistent, so doggone it, do i need the pain. :D
