Some screen captures I made while browsing Google Earth (earth.google.com)

I was really amazed to see the size of the great pyramids, I had not realized that they were so large!

btw: Google Earth, is a satalite imaging software thing, it can be downloaded for free using the above link, and at the same link is more google earth information.

Very cool!
Esepecially cos I had been wondering a while about what the hell (or what the earth ;)) Google Earth is!

Wow I didnt know the pyramids were so near to the city (if that's a city what I see)... I thought they were in the middle of nowhere!

Does anyone know what the images entitled: notsure/notsure2 are? (notsure2 is a more zoomed out view of notsure), I was just cruising around egypt and found this weird mark: is it modern, is it some series of ruins, is it just a geographic anomoly???

I am not sure myself.

The unknowns were quite a bit south of the pyramids from what I could reckon, there is not a very easy identifiable distance marker. But ye have the best identification yet!
The black thing, I assumed it was a road, but by rubbish road you mean one leading to a sanitary landfill, a road made up of rubish debris, or a bogus road?

Does anyone find is lightly alarming that you can see such detail in an arial view on the internet?

Aren't the veiws are older images? My husband was able to zoom into the street where he grew up in Wichita. I think he said the trees were smaller than now.

I have heard that they are anywhere between 2 and 4 years old, but I am not 100% sure. I f ye check out edmonton alberta, you can see that half of the pictures were taken during the summer, and the other half during the winter, tis pretty funny.
