I read Orientalism of Said recently, and could find resources of the Occidental scholers for the book and listen to the opinions of the western students. But, I could not help but had curiosity, how the eastern people think about this book, especially near east . How the near east accepts this book and Said.
Of course, I do not ask it only to the eastern people. Anyone who read this book or know about him, please give your opinion freely.

I think that a serious criticism on Said was that he himself surrended to the western thinking and writing, and got "westernzied". Many people said the he writes for westerns and not for the easterns. It could be OK, since he seeks to educate us, but the outcome may be that easterns won't read him.
I must admit that this is not first hand info - I read it as a criticism on the book, and I don't really know how it was accepted in the east. I do know that according to some historians that I read, the picture that he is trying to draw is veri partial and incomplete, so it would fit his agenda.
