Life can fill you up like a helium-trapped balloon

And carry you high, climbing away.

Life can screw you up

In the velocity of a hand,

A crumpled

Ten-pound note.

Life can change you

Irremediably

In a single day,

As short as an hour

The space of 60 seconds,

Atomise your memory.

Everything is moving away from you.

The clouds quietly sneak across the sky

And cover the sun in the finest cloth.

The wind running through the wheat

Whittling away, in waves of exodus.

But in all this movement

Nothing leaves the world

To become part of me,

Though I can move within

This space, this time,

Nothing can experience

What its like

To be

Me.

The whole world never stops moving

Even when your world loses its place

And precipitates into a puddled standstill.

The last strophe is interesting. I find the rest prosaic I'm sorry to say.
