History Paper

I am writing a history paper for one of my classes, its due in end of nov.

the time frame is 200bc-1200AD

We are able to choose our own topics, the best one I can think about is the rise of Charlemagne, but I imagine that alot of people will probably do him, so I have been trying to think of different people I could do.

So far the list is

peppin the short
charles martel
constantine.

Does anyone know of anyother possibilities, it would be cool, if I could find a really unique person for the paper. (well unique, but not too obscure)
