I just finished reading this light, short novel. While looking for good Halloween reading I came across the title on Gutenberg.
I enjoyed it, but I know nothing of the author and had never heard of the story until I happened upon the title. It is dated 1888.
I've googled it and can find the story on other public domain sites, but can find no info about the Duchess or the story.
