I was wondering if you could include "The Stranger" by Albert Camus. If there's a problem with copyrights or that sort of thing, I understand.
Found myself in a sticky situation some years back as an undergrad when the campus bookstore ran out of copies of "Stranger" not long before a report was due (yeah, yeah - procrastination). After reading some online summaries (heh heh), I really wished I could've read the book.
