With school, work and damn MMO video games, I find it hard to read all that I want to. I have a lot of books I've bought (30??) that I haven't got around to yet. When I do read, it's before I go to bed, but I'm so tired at night, I can only get off several pages before my body automatically shuts down.

How long do you read at time? Or do you do it by pages?

I usually read until my eyes begin to shut down on me. With school and work and all, I try to find time to read during the weekends. :)

It depends. I like to read for hours, but mostly I don't hve the time for that. Now it's approximately 30 minutes before I go sleeping.

I read on the train on the way to uni. which gives me at least about 30 to 40 minutes of reading every day. At home I tend to read 10 to 20 pages at a time but when I'm on holidays I tend to read something between 60 and 100 pages at a time.

Well... I'm trying to read at the weekends and in the time of holidays (especially in the summer when I read for whole day).

well I read on the bus while going to work which gives me 1 hour of time... then at work when we're about to go home, I read for half an hour. then on the bus again while going home, which is another one hour and sometimes before I go to bed, but only if I'm not too tired, and during the weekends when I am not disturbed I can read for hours... :D

I try to find times during the morning and afternoon when I can sit down and read for a few hours at a time, polishing off 100 pages plus. At night I can do some reading, but maybe more like 20-30 pages, because I get too tired, and am not really soaking in what is being said...like when you stare at the same page for a while...nodding off!

I try to find time to read. Usually I read at night and if I like a book very much, I can wake whole night to read a book but it has just happened a few times-Once when I read Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I liked it so much that I completed it in 3 hours at night. But the most time I have given to a book is when I read Mill on the floss ( My all times favourite book) I completed it in 7 or 8 hours and when I completed it, it was morning...but thanks God it was Saturday so next day it was holiday.

Usually it is difficult for me to keep on reading book when I have school days...
But it will be wrong for me to say, that I don't get time to read, as in my grade studies are not that tough so I get time of reading, watching movies and forums..

If I count my daily percentage of reading, I think it will be nearly 1 and a half hour per day... :)

I've been reading quite a bit lately...from when I get home till I go to bed, on and off. Depends on the book. Reading the Narnia series right now, and so I'm averaging one book every two days...they are really easy to read. If the book is good I'll read until I can't focus anymore. I usually read every night before bed, usually for an hour or so.

I'm reading usually 10 minutes before school, between 30 min. and 2 hours during some boring lessons , in the afternoon around 30 min. and before sleeping 30 min. again. But sometimes when it was a hard day or I really hadn't any time , I am reading nothing.

Pensive, I've got to check out Mill on the floss. I saw it listed in your profile when I first started looking around here and since I had never read it I have been thinking I need to.

Back to the question about reading time... When I was younger I could read for hours, often neglecting sleep to do so. Now, I squeeze in as much reading as I can between diaper changes, peeling apples, and finger painting. It is very worth it, though. :)

It really depends. I just finished college this Summer and am now looking for a job, but I've been away a lot over the Summer so I haven't been able to read anywhere near as much as I was thinking of. However, if a book has me gripped as the one I'm reading now has for instance, I can just lay & read most of the day, especially now I've got neither college nor a job to go to for the time being. Between Monday afternoon & yesterday bedtime I read about 200 pages! I usually have at least one book waiting in the wings too, but right now I don't so I'm trying to ration myself with the last 70 pages until I can get to Waterstones/my Bf lends me something at the weekend; Because the thought of having some kind of bookless limbo even for a day horrifies me!

During vacations I can usually read up to 4-5 hours per day, reading over 100 pages per day; but, while in school, most of my effort goes toward reading textbooks, subtracting much from my leisure reading. Nowadays, in school, I can only get 1/2-2 hours of reading (mainly because I ride public transportation).

On a day off from work I usually read around 50 to 200 pages depending on the book. If I'm at work I usually read on my 2 15 minute breaks and usually read 30 to 45 minutes on my lunch depending on how long it takes to eat. Then, when I come home from work I usually read another 15 minutes. I did once read the whole Dark Tower series in six days in between high school graduation and starting my job.

I am a fast reader, but, I read the whole book, The Nazi Officer's Wife in an afternoon and evening and part of the next morning.

I couldn't put it down. Few books, and a true story, have held me captivated in a real long time.

I am still struggling with Edith Wharton's style of writing.

I read 1 hour befor going to bed, but I red 5 novels from Francois Sagan in 3 days. I have no idea how that could happen, but I gues I was thirsty in reading sommething in my mother tongue and my eyes hurt. The last time I did something like that was when I red "Gone with the wind", when I was 14, all 3 parts in 2 days. I must say it is interssting to read books from one author in a row.

I read when I can find unobstructed alone time. I cannot concentrate on what is being said when there are people talking to me, or the tv running, or the phone ringing. That said, usually I will read about an hour. Unless, the book is particularly good and I just cannot pull myself away!
