Unfortunately, yes, any forum can seem a little confusing while first joining, but it gets easier with practice. I would recommend beginning here (http://www.online-literature.com/forums/), the forum index. From there, you should see multiple choices of areas of the forum you can go to by clicking on them - areas like 'General Literature,' 'Religious Texts,' 'Poems, Poets, and Poetry,' 'Philosophical Literature,' and so on, as seen on the page.
