Hi guys...

I'm new here but enjoying it so far. My taste in books has quite a wide range of interest, everything from C.S Lewis to Ernest Hemmingway to Walt Whitman....I really enjoy F. Scott Fitzgerald (esp. his short stories), Mark Twain, Harper Lee and Charles Dickens. To name a few.

I also enjoy popular fiction and I always welcome a new author who WOWS me. Right now I'm enjoying the work of Gregory Maguire.

Hope to get to know you all in time. It will take me a while to really delve into the depths of this place.

That dancing banana is addictive...I keep looking at it...and looking at it...and looking-
okay, enough about that (stares at the banana one last time). I shall welcome you, as I am new here as well :)
I greatly admire C.S Lewis. When I was little, I actually thought the Chronicles of Narnia were based on true events and I lost many hours searching for a snowy wood within my wardrobe, alas, to no avail. Have you read Lewis' "The Great Divorce"? It might be of the most original stories on Heaven and Hell that I have ever read.

What a beautiful selection of favorite writers you have; many of them, especially Hemingway, Whitman, Twain, Lee, and Dickens, I can never grow tired of, and merely stand in awe with each read.
Welcome to the forum, Satine, I think you will enjoy it here.
And I love your signature, by the way, as it brings back a lot of good memories of favorite childhood books/movies. ;)

Thanks!! That's just the short list, though...I'm always frustrated when people ask "What's your favorite book?" Or "Who's your favorite author?" How do you narrow it down to ONE of either?! That's like asking "What's your favorite song?" Yikes! How much time do you have? :) Anyway, it's great to be here.
