I thought the topic subject was some kind of joke and I was expecting a post full of sarcasm and fun... instead reality is more of a joke than fiction...

And seriously, I've never read the Count of Monte Cristo so sorry but I have no idea.

To answer your . . . question, yes, I considered The Count Of Monte Cristo tragic, and worth writing of, as a representative of tragic literature. Other tragic stories: no one can quite forget the tragedies of William Shakespeare (Macbeth, Titus Andronicus, Romeo and Juliet, the list goes on . . .), and those of the ancient Greeks (particularly Sophocles, Euripides, and Aeschylus).
