Hello, sonikchic, welcome to the forums. :)
Hmmm, I have never heard of such a poem, and did some searching around the Internet, but to no avail.
My only guess alludes to, perhaps, that the lines came from one of three plays, the Ancient Greek ones (by Sophocles and Euripides) sometimes translated in poetic form: Electra by Sophocles, Electra by Euripides, or Mourning Becomes Electra by Eugene O'Neil. In fact, I often see high school students having to read the plays of Sophocles (especially Oedipus Rex) and Euripides.
I apologize I cannot help more, but it really depends on any specific translation. My best guess resides with the two ancient Greek plays.

Hi, I came across this forum while looking for the same poem for the same reason... another line I remember is "A door in the wall and the crucifix falls"... did you have any success finding it? Thanks, Matt
