Same problem as Satanic Verses. The book is to recent to be in the public domain.

What is this book about? I've never heard of it, and I try to gather information about as many books as I can.

Pedro Paramo is a novella by the Mexican writer Juan Rulfo (He only wrote 2). A mother in his deathbed makes his son promise to find his father, whom he has never met. In his search he arrives to a ghost village, where different characters - all dead- talk about his father, who used to be the local tyrant (Pedro Paramo). It is very poetic in form and some people find it hard to read. My mother had to read it for a course and could not understand it. But is is really worth the effort.

Though volvoreta explained the story very well, I happened to find a book review online, as it looks interesting:

Thanks, volvoreta and mono. :) Well, I just finished reading a ghost-related story, so for variety's sake I'll put it on hold for now. It does sound like an interesting story except for the fact that the two main characters are "lovers" according to the review. Do you know if that was a part of the story, or the reviewers just thought that it was implied?

No, that's a problem of the review. Those characters he mention are not even the main characters.

Ah. Then, thank you again for the information. :)
