The peace of my heart
Nicholas Denis
Sometimes I feel
that a piece of my heart
lies lost at the bottom of a lake
of tears
uncried
A dam must break
A waterfall must fall
If I am to recover
The peace of my heart
I happened to read this poem somewhere a long time ago and remembered it at once. The first feeling it caused me was heavy. Yet I love it .
ANd what about you?

Yes, the poem does have a unique metaphor to it - simple, yet touching. The poet begins well with a seemingly common analogy, but expands on it in the second stanza with an even better imagery.
Thanks, Rosevn. :)

I felt tear in my eyes after I had read it. I can write them here, but they are more meaningful than words. Thank you.

That was very moving - heavy is also what it evoked out of me the first time - but it was beautiful at the same time.

I love that poem because it describes exactly how I feel sometimes. Thanks for posting it Rosevn.

I agree with Natalie that it's a very moving and encouraging poem. It tells you to really hit the bottom..
