I'm looking to get a subscription to a magzine that focuses on literature...I'd like something of a balance in subject material, with past and contemporary subjects given ample space. Any suggestions?

The website Arts and Letters Daily (http://www.aldaily.com/) has an excellent list of magazines :)
Grand Street is good for new writing.
The New York Review of Books is excellent and always has a diverse range of articles.
A friend of mine often wanders through a website called http://www.e-nterests.com/; he finds quite a few decent literature and art magazines, delivered worldwide, and at a fair price.
Good luck, and I apologize that I cannot really help more. :)

"The New York Review of Books" ( http://www.nybooks.com ). After reading The New York Review of Books I always know at least ten books I want to read next. But there are not only articles about newly published books but also about important other topics (like terrorism, islam, climate change, and many more) Very interesting are also the portraits of authors.

One of the old ladies of literature magazines is the Paris Review ( http://www.parisreview.com )

I'm sory Mono, but why does the front page says :
"Welcome to E-nterests.com!
Your source for family, health, beauty and travel-related articles and useful resources"
I see that there's a section for books and magazine, but I think the site is not to specific about literature magazine :)..Just a comment though
And thanks for those who post the NYbooks review and Paris review links.
