ps: I have to leave the jungle for this, since I want to be the first who sayz :bday_2: to you ;)

Happy Birthday to MONO , one of the greatest artists in this forum. Please write plays with "simplified" English, so I don't have to spend weeks in order to understand the story :) (j/k). Once again, happy birthday Jonathan

Oh boy, I'm honoured to be amongst the first few to extend a VERY HAPPY BRITHDAY to you, Mono!! May the wind always be at your back my friend. Mono = a prefix (to your greatness as an artist), a singularity (for your kindness and thoughtfulness towards others), meaning one (the world is just a better place because of that). Again, happy b-day Mono. Do something nice for yourself today, that way your guaranteed to get something you want for your birthday!!!

Happy, happy birthday :bday_2: It's your day and so it's a beautiful day :D

U2 - Beautiful Day

The heart is a bloom
Shoots up through the stony ground
There's no room
No space to rent in this town

You're out of luck
And the reason that you had to care
The traffic is stuck
And you're not moving anywhere

You thought you'd found a friend
To take you out of this place
Someone you could lend a hand
In return for grace

It's a beautiful day
Sky falls, you feel like
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away

You're on the road
But you've got no destination
You're in the mud
In the maze of her imagination

You love this town
Even if that doesn't ring true
You've been all over
And it's been all over you

It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
It's a beautiful day

Touch me
Take me to that other place
Teach me
I know I'm not a hopeless case

See the world in green and blue
See China right in front of you
See the canyons broken by cloud
See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out
See the Bedouin fires at night
See the oil fields at first light
And see the bird with a leaf in her mouth
After the flood all the colors came out

It was a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
Beautiful day

Touch me
Take me to that other place
Reach me
I know I'm not a hopeless case

What you don't have you don't need it now
What you don't know you can feel it somehow
What you don't have you don't need it now
Don't need it now
Was a beautiful day

:D

Oh my goodness! I leave for one whole evening, and look what happens!
What a wonderful shock to see you, subterranean! I could not have thought of a more pleasant surprise!
Thank you, kilted; I have not the slightest idea what you said, but I think it safe to assume something good, having seen it in another thread.
What a great honor to have baddad bid me happy birthday; I only get a day older, and I have some incredible minds congratulating me, including Loki.
Thank you, Taliesin - always a pleasure seeing all of your Taliesins here. :D
An extra big thanks to Logos; you ought to post more often, too.
Helga, thank you for the very sweet words. Somehow, subterranean mentioned a good writer on the forum, and perhaps she spoke of another . . . specific . . . member.
Monica, through all of the Games threads we posted simultaneously on, you still manage to post my favorite U2 song! How funny, and thank you for the surprise.
The cake looks beautiful, Scher, thanks! Of course, I cannot have all of it myself, but share it with my fellow bookworms. ;)
Papayahed, my fellow Leo! Still feeling hungry, those dancing bananas look especially enticing.
How sweet of you, ihrocks! I have hardly registered myself for a year; I consider you, with a few others, lurking around, the true members who constructed this site, but thank you! :)
And shortysweetp, very pleasant for you to step out of your busy schedule, while moving. I certainly do intend on enjoying my day.

Thank you all SO much; this highlighted my morning. Unfortunately, I have a day planned to take my final exam in my college psychology course. Having done quite well on the mid-term, I feel confident, but still dread taking a test on my birthday. Oh well, I still have the rest of the day, and my very thoughtful fellow forum members. :)

Thank you, Jay. What a pleasure to receive good wishes from one of the most devoted members of the forum, the queen of smileys! :)

Now that everyone's here, let's party
Definitely! As Prince once sang "let's party like it's 1999," perhaps we should like 1982. :eek2: With papayahed's extensive knowledge of music from the 80's and 90's, at least we could have some good tunes! :D

If the party has started open the door
don't leave me outside in this downpour
I have a few words I want to say to you
and I can't say them if I'm drenched twice through
A little poem is all I can conceivably offer
when to anything else it's said, 'stop her"
(pitiful??? yes but my connection could go anytime,
so there's little time to think of a better rhyme)
I'll just leave this here on your doorstep
a little gift that through the raindrops crept
Happy Birthday Mono, it may lack the trimmings
But the sincerity should make up some winnings.

:bday_2: :bday_2: :bday_2: to you MONO!!!!!

would that this day
lasted longer than
time so we
could toast
your first breath
'til eternity...

(but since it doesn't, we can cram our love for you into every moment and especially this day (irrespective of this being belated, sorrysorrysorry!), week and month! for your should have a birthday month, mono, not day! and guess what tidbit i just realized: you share it with my sister and nana - i just love that! :) :)

again, the happiest of happy birthdays to you, dear.

Hope you have had a wonderful start of another good year!!

Thank you kindly, NNoah, I had a wonderful, and dramatic, celebration worth telling.
Simon, how wonderful for you to show up more often, and I really appreciate the poem. Did you write it yourself? I say it looks very impressive, and I had no idea you had such talent for writing poetry!
Wondeful to have heard from you, AimusSage - thank you.
How sweet of you for so many cakes and the poem, amuse; I cannot say how much I appreciate receiving such king regard from you.
Thank you, dearest Psyche, we will spend time with each other soon. I wish I could have seen you on the day, but planning times clashed, and I got quite ill.
No worries, Bianca, as any acknowledgement, even belated, seems almost too much to love at once.
And Chava, another fellow Leo. Old age has not quite crept up on me, but it approaches day by day. Thank you very much. ;)

I cannot describe, everyone, how much I appreciate your kind acknowledgements and pleasant wishes; and I can never pay enough thanks. I had a wonderful day, and I think I pulled a solid 'A' in my psychology class, since I had the final exam on my birthday. I then went out drinking with some friends and family, and, sadly, drank way over my limit; that evening and yesterday, I think, I had a slight affliction of some mild alcohol poisoning, and could hardly eat or drink. This morning and afternoon, luckily, I feel much better, drinking lots of water and eating light, various foods to replace any electrolyte imbalances, only now, I intend not to drink for a very long time - if I do, very lightly. :D

Thanks again, amuse. I still feel somewhat drained of energy, and I managed to get some exercise yesterday, but had to take a few breaks. Wow - 23 years old, and I feel in my 50's or 60's. Needless to say, I do not intend on drinking for a long time!

Ahh late as ever, nevertheless, bon anniversairre Mono
Merci beaucoup, RococoLocket, I really feel glad to hear from nearly everyone on the forum; all of the kind acknowledgements get a little overwhelming, but never in a bad way, of course.

I missed your birthday! I hope it was a reallly good one.
Isagel! My fellow poetry fanatic! You have returned! I find it a great honor to hear from you, and thank you for your pleasant hopes. I had a wonderful celebration, overall, and received a very gracious gift certificate to my favorite bookstore (http://www.powells.com/). You should show up more often, Isagel! ;)

Thanks again. ;)

Thank you, Koa. ;) Again, how wonderful to see you back again, and doing well.
Feeling much better, I could use another party, especially one from the 80's!

So . . . ahem, now to introduce the essential elements of the 80's . . .
