Hello, dips, welcome to the forum.
A very nice choice in finding a book; I absolutely love paintings from the era of Giotto, about the time Florence, Italy's great spout of art.
I did some research on biographies of Giotto di Bondone, and found the following most recommended:
Giotto and his Works in Padua by John Ruskin,
Giotto (Getting to Know the World's Greatest Artists) by Mike Venezia,
Giotto's Father and the Family of Vasari's Lives by Paul Barolsky.

Oh, one could not find these books on this website, probably due to copyright. I would look at any local library or bookstore; I also did a little research, and all of the books have availability on amazon.com.
