lol, you ease up...

anyways... I wonder if anyone has asked for "one flew over the cookoo's nest"

I don't know who its by or how old it is... but it is on my list of books I 'simply must read'.

I am not going to waste 15 minutes of my time, only 3 minutes of admin's time :-D

So, if it is possible, that would be cool.

it's by Ken Kesey, but I'm not so sure if the nove's called "one flew over the cuckoo's nest", in Czech it's not, but then I've no idea who translated it... But I'd say it was written in the early 70s, so coperighted?

Yes, the English language title is "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Next," the author is Ken Kensey, and it was published in 1962.

The book was somewhat spoiled for me because I had seen the film first and I couldn't picture the characters in my own way, only as they had been in the film. I hate it when that happens. Curse that Jack Nicholson! Now I stay away from films based on books I plan to read but haven't yet.

Is the book worth buying?

It was for me at the time. But times change, and not every book is for every person. I was familiar with Kesey from his notoriety in the 60s with the Merry Pranksters. I'm not sure if younger readers would have that frame of reference, or understand that period's fascination with anti-heroes and counterculture.

Perhaps check it out from your local library before you spend the money.

The movie is awesome. But I wonder what effect it would have on me if I read the book? Anyway, Jack Nicholson was so ****ing awesome in that movie (makes me wanna go rent it again).

ok, I think I will go check it out first... of course my local library is so small it doesn't have it... I have to drive 30 miles to a better library... :(

ahh Kesey is awesome. I love the Merry Pranksters! Of course those who have read The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test know all about my name and about Kesey himself.
