I have recently read "My Ishmael" by Daniel Quinn and 1984 by George Orwell and I am interested in comparing the two books on the insights and critiques they give for our society. How do the dystopia collectivist society of 1984 relate to a modern tribal society, as envisioned by Quinn? How do education, religion and individualism function in each?
