im reading this steinbeck book at the moment and found out about "bonjour tristesse" by francoise sagan-she was 18 when she wrote that 2 million selling book! and in just 6 weeks! i was wondering if anyone who has studied steinbeck's satire "pippin IV" can tell me if steinbeck based his character of clotilde on sagan or not.
