Hi there, my name is Mark and I live in France, near Paris. I lived in England till the age of 10, now I'm 20 and am studying cinema.
I read quite a bit, over the past year and a half I've probably read over 50 books of all sorts. Some of my favorite novels would be A Farewell to Arms by Hemmingway, 1984 by Orwell and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep by Dick.
I look forward to discussing with you all on the forum.

Welcome to the forum! I want to go to Paris. I'm learning some french. Actually I've been learning french since I was 11, but my teachers were horrible, so I didn't really learn anything. Hopefully by the end of the next school year I'll be partially fluent and maybe take a trip to Europe after I graduate.
Hello, Mark F., welcome the forum. How pleasant for you to join us.
Yes, wanderlust, I studied French for some time also, and still remain partially fluent, having the ability to read and translate most things, but a little slow in conversation. :p

Hi, wow cool so you are practically bilingual?
I studied French for 8 years and recently brushed it back cos I wanted tot ake as 3rd langauge something quick.. and I do remember more than I thought, I'm still able to talk somehow and last year I managed to read some French books in original, to my surprise.
Welcome

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.
Yep I'm bilingual, apart from talking reading is probably the most efficient way of learning a foreign language. Especially for enhancing your vocab. That's how I managed not to forget my English.
Welcome and remember what Goethe said ( a poor paraphased rendition by me because I cannot remember the exact quote), but he makes a similar comment in order to understand your own language you must know another one. Someone please feel free to quote it correctly. I only mentioned this because the topic of knowing more than one language came up.

Am I in the twilight zone? Wasn't this thread started more than a year ago? What possessed Ranoo to post in this one again???
Second on the congrats, though. :D
