I am thinking about writing a sweet story! I have never shared my stories with you guys but maybe I will. Two of you have read one I recently wrote called 'Perfect Innocense' and they seemed to like it but I'm not sure...
Now for a week or so I have been 'blocked' and I can't stand it. I thought about writing a sweet story with a happy ending. Every time I start one, they have a bad ending.
So what do you think of a good one?

Traditionally good endings with fairy tales or stories which resemble fairy tales have a common story line eg damsel in distress, meets either man of dreams or some handsome prince, they decide to get married and live happily ever after. Within the development of story, some villians or problems are encountered however main point brought across is that good wins in the end. Examples from a movie- Pretty Woman. Ever After (w/t Drew Barrymore) From a story - Cinderella, Snow White, Rapunzel etc.
maybe leave it open ended with no real ending.
I, too, as you know, Helga, have difficulty writing happy endings (or endings that promote the greatest good for every character). I agree with amirah that typical 'fairy tales' mostly proceed in the fashion of poor scrub-girl meets gallant knight/prince, previously betrothed, but they marry anyway . . . and they live happily ever after.
You seem to me a very realistic writer. Not to doubt the real happiness in real life, for some writers, in a way, it does seem more realistic and actual to focus on sadness, tragedy, and strife (which seems why there exist nine muses, and not just one).
To free some of your ideas, perhaps 'blocked,' as you said, try freewriting; time yourself for maybe 10 minutes, and write non-stop, and if you run out of things to write, I often write the same word over-and-over again. You do not necessarily have to think everything you write while freewriting, which seems why I do not prefer sharing my freewriting experiences, but it tends to free a lot of those thoughts in limbo. :)
Good luck!

Just wanted to say that traditional fairytales did not promot the goodnesss of all characters.
Well not before the brothers Grim got there hands on them anyway!
They were traditinally gruesome with people getting what they "deserved".
In snow white the evil quenn was made3 to wear bright red hot shoes (that were hotter than coles) and dance till she died.
Apparantly though Ive never actually read tthis verison but a slightly simalar one Sleeping beauty had to be raped to wake up
and her baby was then killed by the Prince who sacved hers mother or actually it may be by him himself because he was jeaklous and it goes on
and on and on.
I have quite a bit of research on them but its on the school Network if you are intrested I could get you the names of different web sites &tc
:D
