It is unfortunate that a book of such calibre would have had passed through the hands of one who is illiterate. The reviewer fails to even get under the first layer of this complex view into the human nature of this tragic character. Maggie Tulliver 'did not care for anyone's feelings'??? Did this girl even read the book? One of the main reasons that led to Maggie's downfall was that she cared too much about other's feelings. Some people should stick to reading Danielle Steele novels.

I liked this book but I think the character of Maggie Tulliver was a selfish ignorent brat who did not care for anyone's feelings, despite the awful character of maggie , I enjoyed the book and all the scanndle but this book does not compare to george Eliot' other novel 'remola'
