hey actually this poem is a part of my course and i wasnt able to understand it, any notes on this would really help me. so please if someone can give some notes on it, i will be very thankful.

Written in Early Spring
william wordsworth

I heard a thousand blended notes
While in a grove I sat reclined,
In that sweet mood when pleasant thoughts
Bring sad thoughts to the mind.

To her fair works did Nature link
The human soul that through me ran;
And much it grieved my heart to think
What Man has made of Man.

Through primrose tufts, in that sweet bower,
The periwinkle trailed its wreaths;
And 'tis my faith that every flower
Enjoys the air it breathes.

The birds around me hopped and played,
Their thoughts I cannot measure -
But the least motion which they made
It seemed a thrill of pleasure.

The budding twigs spread out their fan
To catch the breezy air;
And I must think, do all I can,
That there was pleasure there.

If this belief from heaven be sent,
If such be Nature's holy plan,
Have I not reason to lament
What Man has made of Man?

The happiness and pleasure W feels in viewing natural phenomena are being contrasted with the unhappiness that man has brought upon himself. He reads in, or hopes he sees in, Nature a spiritual force and asks why human relationships are so much different--if the heavenly plan is the pleasure and happiness he hopes is there because of the way he feels, then we surely mourn that the same experience doesn't exist between human beings.

Just paraphrase the stanzas sentence by sentence. Use your own words. The meaning of the poem is philosophical, but the content is pretty obvious.

hey if someone could help with these q's it will definately make the poem a lot more clearer and thanks in advance for the help.

1 where was the poet sitting and what did he hear ?
2 why did the poet become sad thought he was in a sweet mood ?
3 what is the link between mans soul and nature ?
4 why does the poet become sad when he thinks about the activities of man ?
5 what is the faith of the poet ?
6 what did the birds do ? why does the poet say that he cannot measure their thoughts ?
7 how does the poet conclude that the birds were happy ?
8 what did the budding twigs do ?
9 the expression, " what man has made of man ", is used twice in the poem.what does the poet want to convey through this ?

hey another thing i wanted to know was, what sort of keywords do u type while searching for notes on poems, i tried many diff keywords, but hardly got any helpful results.

Wordsworth sensed a connection between plants, animals, etc., and the human soul. Instead of using the word God, he uses a spiritual entity he calls Nature. We are getting into metaphysics here.
