the governess was probably delusional and wanted to get the uncle's attention. At the start of the story/movie you can see that the uncle has several sexual advances on the governess. And then the governess enters the uncles room and looks around. The governess also reads his letter in private. i hope this helps you because i am stuffed for the exam!!!

For the Turn of the Screw, I think the governess purposely set the whole thing up and killed Miles intentionally. I need help to get reasons to back this up. The governess was evil.
