So you've never met a mother like Mrs. Morel? I grew up with her living upstairs in our house (my mother finally clarified for me that we lived downstairs in her house). She was my grandmother, and my father was her second son, her first had died (taken from her by murder with a milktruck according to her). Somehow my father did marry, and brought my mother home to live. It was always quite plain that my mother came in 3rd - 1st was my grandmother, 2nd my brother and me, for my father. My grandmother has been dead for 14 or 15 years and she is still in control of my father and the house. Believe me, it still happens today.
